Full Marks to Warnock and Leeds

Top marks to Warnock and his charges for their epic victory over Everton. On paper it looked a difficult game but from what I saw before I fell asleep - we are two hours ahead over here, it had been thirty plus degrees all day and with beer at £1 a pint, I was woozy - Leeds fully deserved the win.

The key to the result, of course, was taking the fixture seriously. Bechio could have been rested but wasn't, as could have been White and Tonge, but Warnock got the balance between rotation and fielding a cohesive team right, and picked up a well deserved result.

Last season Allardyce surrendered our League Cup place with a weakened team and repeated the trick last night. It is a stupid policy, not least because of what is does to club morale and to the individual confidence of those brought in, only to lose embarrassingly. Leeds go in to the weekend with confidence surging; West Ham's insecurities climbed a notch or two last night.

The only worrying thing for Leeds last night was the gate. There were sections of the ground very thinly populated from what I could see. If a cup tie against a Lancashire Premiership club can't fill the stadium, that has to be cause for concern. What's happened to the famed passion of Leeds fans?

Half the supporters wont set foot inside Elland Road until Bates has gone, that's the problem pal,, the support is still there...once he fucks off ER will be packed to the rafters again!!

the gates are low because of ken bates.once he has gone and the team maybe gets some investment it may be different......but this has been explained to you before HF!!

Some fans chose to boycott last nights game in protest at how the club ie BATES is running the club,so dont read too much into the gate being poor,we`ll be back.BATES OUT!!!!!

where are you HF?? im looking for somewhere cheap for a short break and the £1beer is appealing.

Gate was shit because we will not go until bates has gone many only go to away games! The gates will hit thirty odd thousand when the old twat leaves we averaged more in league one than in the championship. Mot

Are you on the happy pills?.

Sense from you at last.

The gate will sort itself out very shortly when the Americans take over.

A little saying drummed into me when I was a young lad....''Don't upset people when you're on the way up cos you might meet them on the way down''.

A great football march with everyone in charge.........

Whats happened to the passion of Leeds Fans? silly question really don't you think?
KEN BATES is what's happened to Leeds Fans and until he's gone unfortunately things will be the same way.
P.S. Im pretty sure Everton is in Merseyside, not Lancashire.
BATES OUT.

'What happened to the famed Leeds fans passion?', what happened to your brain cells? 21 K plus on Tuesday night when its pissing down and the games on the telly is pretty good by anyones count. If this was the only negative thing you could think of to say then I guess you really did have one to many Budapest Shandys.

love how you put the dig in at the end!

Anon 12.07 there were 5,000 Everton fans there according to their official site

Leeds are only passionate when they're doing well which was over a decade ago, always been a lower league Club but for a spell in the 70's

It was a great atmospere at Elland Road last night. Instead of the usual Bates out chants we heard what Elland Road used to be like. All the fans that decided to stay at home missed a great game. Whether they are justified or not to protest against Bates, it's a much better place to go when we don't have to listen to the Bates out brigade and it does add a 12th man to the Leeds team. Wish the Bates out brigade would keep their protests out of the stadium even if it is time for Bates to go.

Everton is now in merseyside but before 1974 it was in lancashire.

All this mutual grovelling makes me want to puke. If these comments are from genuine Leeds fans, you don't have to explain or justify a thing to that loony hf. Short memories or fake comments?

Yes HF, let me know where you're staying. Perhaps Adam and I can take you out for a few bevvies?

I didn't used to mind cockneys until Bates then you came along. About time you stopped all this. Anyway its lunchtime so go and munch on your tumour and cucumber sandwich you tosser.

What happened to the fans? Try 2 months rainfall in 2 days, widespread flooding, roads closed, A1 closed for 40 miles in North Yorkshire as it was underwater, torrential rain throughout, live on TV, and finally fans refusing to attend ER until the Wicked Uncle Ken sells up.
In the circumstances 21,000 is a decent attendance.
The condition of the pitch last night was amazing given the rain dumped on it in the past few days. Well done to the LUFC groundstaff

you really are a total wanker! I was glad to see warnocks Leeds win and your sad little team lose, bet you was gutted. hahaha, oh and by the way i dont support either, i just happen to come accross the bullshit you write everynow and then and wanted to see what shit you come up with after your loss.

Nice unbiased article for a change without a piss take.

Reason for Fans staying away - Bates, high prices, TV, Weekday, Everton are not a big pull

Anonymous said...

West Ham attendance wasn't much higher and that match wasn't televised. Does that mean your fans don't have passion?

The difference is Leeds fans are staying away for a reason and will return, whereas West Ham are just not as well supported.

Dickhead ! .....At lest wev'e had a couple of decent ( spells ) lol unlike you london nomarks .....u eaten too many eel' s u prick .

Same old negativity aimed at LUFC. If we win 10-0 and get a Huber-Trillianaire invester, you would find something else to criticize us with. We stay away from the ground in droves because of Bates or the torrential rain or the TV coverage and you have a pop at us. No passion!! Fuck you and your tiny little club. You truly are a complete wanker!

I see the pond life that calls himself dagenham dave has crawled out to have a go. It's funny the lengths you both go to with your research into all things Leeds. You inevitably end up with egg on your faces, just as you will when the gates drop at your shit hole when you go out of another cup then fight for survival. You see,hf had no choice but to lick our arses after our result and your tanking last night. The ridicule he was getting forced him to put on a brave face and hail the mighty whites. So what i'm trying to say to you dd is Piss off.

Anonymous said...

Dagenham Dave you are an utter moron and we have been a lower league club apart from a spell in the 70's? I recall us being champions in the 90's and finishing top 5 more often than not up to until we got relegated.

Anonymous said...

wet spam hahahahaha love leeds hate bates hate man u love the glazers.

I hear West Ham's attendence was around 25 thousand. Would like to see what it would have been if your game had been televised and held during a rainstorm. Simple maths.

dont forget there was biblical flooding in West Yorkshire last night !

Bates was born in Ealing, West London. He is no cockney.

Anonymous said...

cockney , not a cockney
you are all southern twats

Anonymous said...

Look you slimeball, you're hardly one to pick people up on their geography after describing Everton as a team from Lancashire. Bates was born in London and like anyone born there,he's a cockney. The word has become a generic term, just like the word Yank is when describing Americans. Although Yank has a different meaning for you when you're alone with dagenham dave.

Anonymous said...

Hammersfan, you should know by now that all Northerners call all Londoners Cockneys. The fact that this is the only thing you chose to respond to really illustrates how stupid you were to say the attendance to this famous victory was disappointing

Dagenham Dave is one of your alter egos i expect.
Leeds were CHAMPIONS in the sixties and nineties to go with the seventies.Obviously you are a CANNOT know. Not just a do not know type.
