Just looked in on the mordant org and checked out a forum on who is the most overrated player currently playing. Would you believe some morons have listed John Terry? The guy was / is rated by Hiddink, Capello, Errikson, Ranieri, Scolari and Mouriniho no less. Clearly this bunch know absolutely nothing about football!
Where do these jealous idiots think they are coming from? You can only begin to imagine if they had the intelligence to be physicists! Einstein? Useless, know nothing, a plastic physicist! Hawking? What does he know?
Do these people not realise how stupid they look when they come out with this nonsense? And what about patriotism? Terry is the England captain for pity's sake!
Mind you, my least favourite, letter writing dwarf takes the award for the most absurd reply! Grumpy announced that the most overrated player was not Stewart Downing or Robinhio or Wayne Bridge or Babel or, based on Real Madrid signing him, Faubert; no, the most overrated player has 109 caps for England, has won every club honour in the game and has played for Manchester United, Real Madrid and A C Milan - clearly the guy must be a clown with that CV!
How, tell me how, can anybody be so myopic as to call Beckham the most overrated player in the game? Moronic, truly, truly moronic. I have really enjoyed watching Beckham over the years; it is such a shame his Dad didn't raise him as a Hammer!

An absolute quality blog and 100% right - Beckham is an absolute legend and has been England's most consistent player for the past 10 years. Grumpy is a twat
LOL Grumpy sure is!
Spot on mate
Myopic - interesting word. I have seen that word used somewhere else recently. Taking debates from other people's websites then adding them to your own due to lack of originality after trying to ask "others" for help in posting due to your lack of knowledge speaks wonders for a great "blog". Then to add insult to injury, after adding another websites forum and then slagiing those people off on here when you cant do it on the other website becuase you're banned for doing that kind of stuff. Brilliant, cant wait for the next blog subject here.
LOL Anonymous. Should I ban you? You'd have to leave a name first. I could just crumple your reply by hitting the little dustbin logo this site affords me, but I won't. No banning, no locking, no deleting, except if the reply is racist or includes obscenities. Unlike the mordant org, dissident opinions are welcomed. Anyway, my nameless friend, you have probably replied to Fanno on the org in recent days. They seek him there, they come on here...LOL (By the way, do you have a blog site I could come on to?)
Just looked in on the org again. Take in the highly sophisticated response of Irons Germany to Orange Boy. Now that would get him deleted from here, but on there his Klan write the rules! Not surprisingly, he is of the opinion that John Terry is the most over rated player in the game! Match this opinion to the obscene reply and you have a measure of that unbanned yob!
Terry and Beckham ARE overrated. Doesn't make them shit, just overrated. Oliver Holt once wrote (just before Euro 2000) that Beckham was the best player in the world. Yeah right. And Terry may be England captain, but Rio wipes the floor with him as a footballer.
DaDon, Ferdinand and Terry are different types of players - they compliment each other because they are not from the same mould. Oliver Holt may not be the greatest judge but why do all these top managers keep picking Terry and Beckham if they are not out of the very top drawer, that doesn't make sense does it? Anyway, there's a big gap between the Best in the World and Most Overrated. I don't think anybody regards JT and Becks as the best in the World, but most would regard both in the top 20 in the world in their respective positions.
Who is Orange Boy? I like your style, I like your style!!!!!!
Hammersfan - I really don't need a lecture about the different characteristics of footballers. In my opinion they both have been consistently overrated throughout their careers, the word 'good' can be applied to them but not 'great'. Beckham is one dimensional, Terry can't really play football. They do a job well, and have done so for years. That's it. As for whether they are 'most overrated', probably not (that accolade currently resides with Fat Frank of course) but certainly up there.
Triffle sensitive! (does that mean the custard wobbles if the table is knocked?) You compared Ferdinand to Terry, not me! Personally, as much as I like you, I will trust to the judgement of all those top managers over yours. When you get one of the England, Chelsea, United, A C Milan or Real Madrid jobs, I will take your word as gospel mate. But then, you agree, they are not the most overrated and that was what I was objecting to in the post!
So who in your opinion is the most overrrated?
Good question. I would have Babel near the top of the list. I watched MOTD trying to prove how good he was once and every pass bar one went to an opponent. I always thought Duff was overrated and that has been proved since his move to Newcastle. Carson was patently overrated when being picked for England and when Liverpool slapped an £11million valuation on him as part of the loan deal to Villa. Jenas doesn't strike me as an England player personally. Robinhio has the ability but lacks the desire. Bellyache is ordinary - £14million for him was fantastic business. Modric isn't all that IMO and I thought Arshavin would flop but I look like being VERY wrong there. He has looked special so far! All in all, there are not many. Class will out as they say. To hold down a regular place in the Prem, you must be at least reasonable, to be a first team regular in a top 4 team, you must be very good. Well apart from Almunia - he does seem a rare Wenger blind spot to me!
The same Babel that ripped the arse out of Sergio Ramos the Real Madrid left back???? The same one who scored the winner against United this year and scored in the champions league semi last year? I agree he has failed to live up to the hype but he is 22 and has a hell of lot of potential.
Still, all about about opinions eh?
Quite right Sean. Thanks for looking in. Must admit I didn't realise he was only 22 - he looks much older doesn't he? You agree that he hasn't done it consistently, perhaps that will come as he matures.
hi there... i normally don't comment, but to say David Beckham is a legend is absolutely rubbish... he is, was and always has been the most overrated player on the planet! Do you really think clubs are signing him for his football qualities?? no - they sign the brand called Beckham! If you don't agree, it's definitely because your'e English patriots! I however still have respect for him, because he always gives a 100 pct. but you can never compare him with the likes of ronaldinho, Laudrup, pele, banks etc... In 10 years people won't remember him for what he has done on the pitch, but what he has done off the pitch...
peace to all!
Hammersfan, I am assuming from your name that you are, indeed, a West Ham United fan.... you will know then, that there is more than one team called United (by my counting there are currently 12 in the top four leagues). Please do not feed the glory hunter's arrogance by continuing to refer to them as simply 'united'.
Small, petty point? Yeah... but lets do it anyway!
Oh, other than that, good post.
Cheers to the last two Anonymouses! Give us a name guys, my opening sounds like I am addressing tiny rodents! Apologies for using United, it is unacceptable short hand. I promise to write a thousand lines if I do it again! As for anonymous 1, Beckham will always be remembered for THAT goal against Greece that took us to a World Cup. In the circumstances, with the clock ticking down and England staring down the barrel, it HAS to be one of the greatest goals ever scored. For that alone he merits the term genius!
Er, sorry, Mr Anonymous but I see no reason not to use 'United' in this context when it's bleedin' obvious who it is referring to. KUMB does it all the time. Can you not see the very large reference to West Ham at the top of the page? Any team which has a United in its name can be referred by its own fans as 'United'. It's not arrogant, it's shorthand ffs.
@ DaDon 18:21
I don't give a flying F... what KUMB do.
Have you actually read and understood my post and the original post all the way through?? Thankfully Hammersfan understands what I'm getting at.
This is a West Ham United blog. On that basis to refer to another team as simply 'united', however popular that is and whether or not it is "bleedin' obvious" who that team is, is giving them far too much respect.
If you wanna buy red shirts for your kids while they cheer at the telly thats up to you, I think it's unacceptable...
There is more than one United in this country.
Shit anonymous you're right! I completely misunderstood your point and I actually agree with you. Humble apologies.
LOL Calm down lads, its only a blog site!
I've corrected it to address your concerns chaps!
hammersfan - surely no one is in front of beckham, when it comes to striking a ball... I some times forget that!
anonymous 1 - peden (DK)
West Ham till I Die!!!
Cheers Peden (DK), bit puzzled by the reply as to whether it is sarcastic or not but thanks for looking in and contributing anyway. Are you UK based?
No, one goal doesn't make someone genius.
