Barrera Still A West Ham Man

Interesting to see the Official Site reporting on Barrera's performance for Mexico against Brazil. Whilst KUMB is running the annual nonsense linking us with Ronaldinho - expect Beckham next week - it is almost a shock to be reminded that the Taco Bell doppelganger is still officially on our books.

Will he ever kick a ball in anger in Claret & Blue again? There's more chance of Ronaldinho and Beckham joining us to be honest. In fact, there's more chance of Ronald Macdonald getting a start providing he doesn't look too impressive in the Fast Food World Cup, inviting offers from Tottenham instead.

Id like to think he may get a chance, at least for the first half of the season, never know he may come up trumps, new manager and new system for a pacey winger...

If he fails to impress again then ship him out in January, we don't have any real right sided wingers.. and from we saw of him at the world cup etc... he didn't look all that bad

I forgot that guy even exists! I'm sure he'll be on his way to Spain or in South America very, very soon. If we couldn't count on him the Championship, then there's no way he's gonna make in the EPL. Hopefully,we can get a mil for him or more.

I don't understand the Barrera situation. We need a winger and barrera should have been given a chance in the championship level to see if he can play under this regime or not. If he didn't work then we'd know. Why send him off then keep him?

I meant to ask you about Barrera. He is still in our books, that's for sure. The question is what if anything Sam wants to do with him. I have watched the Brazil v Mexico match and he seemed a much improved player on the wing. He has pace and skill and he was not reluctant to come back and defend. And his assist for the first goal was magnificent. I think we need such players with West Ham playing in the Premier League. I hope they give him a chance to show what he can do.

Ronaldhino has just signed for Atletiko in Brazil by the way. Who thinks of these stories? Honestly...

a lot of transfers on the continent are a small fee upfront and the rest based on performance and apearences, now he has played for us 23 times, i wouldn't be surprised that when he played 25 games it triggers a fee (one we couldnt afford in the championship). we also brought in bentley on loan on high wages and were stuck with faubert on 70k a week so i reckon it just wasnt possible to pay that much in wages for one position on the pitch. i don't think he will be back, i don't think he liked it much in england, although if you were playing in an avram grant team would you be playing your best football and enjoying loosing a lot. however with faubert and bentley off the books we need bodies at rm, if he still gets shipped out then something is up
