Arsenal 5 West Ham 1 - How can the Gunners cope without Van Persie?

Before kick off I warned that Allardyce was asking for a good kicking. God only knows what he was thinking of when he poked Wenger with a stick and effectively rubbished Podolski, Walcott and co. What a fool. He's going to be an even bigger fatter Sam after tucking in to ten helpings of Humble Pie this evening.

What can you say after that second half?

Other, of course, than I told you so!

This afternoon I wrote, "The Arsenal forwards looked pretty decent at Upton Park, and I don't remember watching the second half thinking, "My God they're missing Van Persie". In fact, after Walcott came on, I was praying for the final whistle to keep the score down!"

My half time report was headed "O'Brien in Purgatory" and I warned, "Poor O'Brien. Every time Walcott gets the ball the Irishman is on the rack. Outpaced, outclassed and out of position, he is stretching every fibre to keep us in the game" and predicted, "Defensively we have coped - just. Tomkins and Reid have been good but one of Arsenal's pin point passes will be threaded through the needle sooner or later."

Second half kicked off and Warnock promptly tore poor Joey apart. Tomkins made a brilliant intervention to prevent an immediate goal, but was hopelessly at fault for Arsenal's second, losing his man at the corner. From there on, it was just embarrassing!

Let's pretend the game ended at half time shall we, and wish young Potts well.

Player ratings: Jussi 5, Delel 4, Tomkins 4, Reid 4, O'Brien 4: Noble 4, Collison 5, Taylor 4, Nolan 3, Vaz Te 1, Cole 4 Subs Diarra 6 Diame 4, Potts 999

The best two players - apart from Reid - were Diame & Diarra. Demel has the brain, but not the legs - he used to be good, but not by the time we got him. .

Vaz Te is gutless & petulant. Cole tries hard, but....
Collison was ok - tonight. Hopefully he is regaining some of the quality he showed before his injury.
Noble, Nolan, Tomkins, O Brien, Taylor - all too slow.

Expect some free / laon / has beens to come from the 'saviours.
Danny Potts get well soon

Nothing on the terrible tactics, selection and subs by allardyce? How about the way Noble as left on his own to deal with Ramsay, Wilshere and Cazorla why Nolan walked round the pitch and didnt even see if Dan Potts was okay!!! Sack sam and let him take Nolan with him.

It's a broken record, left and right back issues are ridiculous

Once again Diarra did well in defence. Seemed more motivated too. Maybe the recent saga has left him with a feeling he wants to prove something.

Hope Potts gets well soon

Plenty of time for you to get relegated yet chumps keep blowing your spunk bubbles

Just watched the highlights. It looked like all the goals came down Demels side. He hasn't got much pace, but kept giving his man far too much space. He needs to be more aggressive ....... Just given him a new contract this week, and I thought he was one of the worst players on the pitch.

Thought most of the goals came through Demel. He's not quick so tried to get himself a few yards head start, unfortunately that let Arsenal pick their passes whenever they wanted. Just given the bloke a new contract, so just about sums up his performance.

West ham are shite said...

hahaha dickhead

I wish Noble could score goals like Collison.

Gosh what a poor poor display from the Sad Hammers!
Hammersfan, given the latest news from you that three of your better players are looking to jump (the sinking) Ship, and looking at this display, what chance now of the Sad's achieving your ambition for them this year, namely, avoiding a drop down to their true level, (The Championship)?

Please don't think that Leeds fans are laughing AT you armchair hammer, because we aren't. We're laughing towards you.

Is this article about YOU or your team?

Funny how you say "allardyce is asking for a good kicking" isn't it? Especially after complaining about receiving similar threats "allegedly" from Leeds fans the other day. Now correct me if i'm wrong but i can't remember Sam inciting other supporters or making cheap jibes about a young girl who was repeatedly raped by a monster who just happened to support Leeds. Oh if any w,ham fan would like to verify this, just look back in his archives. He's so narcissistic he thinks they're important enough to save.

How do YOU think Deane is keeping armchair hammer? His team just got whopped 5-1.

had a sneaky feeling we were going to win this one ..must learn to ignore sneaky feelings! Then again odd team selection may be he was saving the bigger guns for games we can win and for the sack sam merchants -don't be ridiculous.

We were out done by a sharper more gifted footballing outfit and all in all I'd say 27 points and 12th place this side of xmas for a newly promoted team ,carrying many championship level players still, is not bad. It's better than I expected but not as good as I'd hoped...we will achieve mid table obscurity and carry on to become solvent (with SuGo) and steadfast in the premiership (with BFS)..Happy Days...
