Seven In Morning Meeting Just Plain Stupid

So Allardyce spat out his dummy after the thumping at the Emirates and insisted that the players show up the following morning at seven o'clock for a dress down. How stupid.

What exactly was going to be achieved by that, other than breeding resentment? We were trounced by a better team, fired up by Allardyce's own stupid pre match comments. If Allardyce wants to blame somebody at that time of the morning, he should simply look in his bathroom mirror. Perhaps he could use his wife's lipstick to write the words "Stupid Cnut" on the glass before looking.

Some of us have been saying that a new left back was a priority since the end of last season, but Allardyce has ignored this obvious Achiles heel. Even now we are being linked with Warnock, a player not good enough for Villa's defence!

We got what was coming to us in midweek. The writing was on the wall when Sunderland tore us apart and the improved performance against Man Utd, using three centre backs and two young full backs was ignored. Nobody's fault except Allardyce.

So Diame turned up late. So what? Wouldn't you if you wanted to provoke a showdown ahead of demanding a transfer to Arsenal?

If it is true what I hear that Allardyce fined Diamme one week's wages he has just pushed him out the door. How is stupid is that for Christ sake? Even if he was seeking an excuse by turning up late, why give it to him?!!!

Unless, he wanted him to go and collect the 3.5 million to finance the purchase of defenders from struggling clubs who can't even make the first team. Without Diamme we are half the team. Am I the only one who realises this? With Diamme we stay up for sure. Without him we struggle.

What a load of rubbish. Big Sam has done wonders for us and all you can do is bitch and moan. We have only just been promoted and success takes time. Get over it.

So Diame is going to go - well, good luck to him. Although him and Diarra stabilised the team when they eventually did come on against Arsenal, there's no point keeping disconted players - if what's reported is true. They obviously want the biggest pay packet, so rational argument will play no part in their 'situation'.
As for Sam's tactics, I'd blame Tomkins JOB and Jussi for the goals, plus the complete absense of a midfield [Nolan?] in front of them - a situation that was only remedied when Diarra and Diame came on.

Professional footballers leave such a charmed life ,i think if they dont play as instructed and let the supporters down like they did then get them out of there pits like the rest of us have to each morning.Any resentment from players would be petulant and childish.I dont care if diame wants to leave or not,hes a good player but no 1 player is better than the club.If any lateness is a fine at the club then he had to fine him. What would that have done to team spirit. The cynics crack me up ,they cant wait to dig big sam out. This season is about staying up ,no more no less!!coyi!!!

Get real u bunch of arse ! they get paid how much ? and play like *ankers. Deserve to go early like normal workers for being so poor. As for the fine it´s the same for every player ! no prima donnas ! God I hate the attitude of some people here !!!

Your article could not have been written any better....when we played with 3 at the back against man utd in the cup and the 2 wing backs we have never looked so composed we played very well and had fergie and his great team on the back foot...Spence played a blinder at right wing back getting up and down the flanks and even embarrassed there left back. the next game sam completely rips the team apart and plays his usual boring negative formation ...

Get rid of this Guy ASAP..hes done his job by getting us back up now get rid ....pleaseee

Ill sing it again .....Paulooooo Dicanio Paulo Dicaniooooo

Sam, has got it right, this lot need a kick up the backside to jolt them out of their indifferent form. If he has fined Diame then he is right to do so, just because someone threatens to leave or acts as though they are bigger than the team no matter who they are they deserve their punishment. Well done Sam !!

Oh, well, at least you might have a nice run in the FA Cup to cheer you up before you're sent back down to the Championship where you belong (at best). Oh, no wait...you were knocked out in the third round. Pathetic.

But the freakshow at West Ham makes great entertainment for everyone else!

Bitches and moans from the comfort of his comfy armchair you mean? Doesn't go to games so hasn't got the right to an opinion either way.

Whether a 7am meeting is a good or bad idea,it's none of your business. You don't go to games and hand over your money so best keep quiet.

Maybe it was needed? Certainly sensed it from what Nolan said....or maybe his feelings were just about himself.

7.00 am is no big deal, most footballers train from eight so coming in a hour early to review the match on tape is surely good management. Can't believe people are getting all wobbly about Sam, he's the most professional manager we have had and if not him; who? As for Diame ,if he's going,he's going, a week' s wages is neither here or there, you can't bend club rules to suck up to players, they all leave eventually.

His other passion are still in the cup though.

Fining Diame is a smart move - Diame said he wants to stay - Sam wants to find out how much -

Championship team at best? - Ha! Well as one of only 8 clubs to have never played below the top 2 tiers of English football we've clearly punched our weight for the last 113 years
