I can't see it myself. Allardyce would leave himself desperately short of cover in the centre of defence unless he has a replacement lined up. And, at the end of the day, Tomkins is not what Newcastle need.
Talkbollocks are trying to convince us that the rumour they started last week is true but I would say it is strong odds against personally.
Am I concerned as a West Ham fan? To be honest no, providing we source a reasonable replacement. Tomkins has not, in horse racing parlance, trained on. He will always be limited by lack of pace and I fancy he will never be more than a Premiership squad player, sadly.

Personally I'd hate to see him go. A good looking lad like him is hard to find. When played in position I think he's a great centre-back. Would prefer him before Collins 9 times out of 10.
Besides the last game, Collins has been garbage. He's made a mistake in every game and centered around at least one goal per game (almost). Tomkins is the future. Not sure why we wouldn't start him, and it would be sad to see him go. With regards to his pace, he's a center back. Doesn't need pace as long as his right back has pace, which they should.

Cant go soon enough . Useless slow thick and vastly over rated . Get anything we can asap before everyone starts asking questions . Great deal if B F Sam can pull it off .
