Avram Granted a Stay of Execution

Either the papers have it in for him, or Sullivan and Gold really are poised to knife poor Avram in the back if we fail to win our next home game. The victory over Stoke seems to count for nothing, as do the string of impressive performances prior to the Newcastle debacle. All that matters to the Dildo Boys is getting out of the hole they find themselves in - and pronto!

It seems the game at the Emirates has been written off in advance. To sack Avram for losing to Arsene would be too obscene, even for two guys who made their millions out of sex aids. But next game up, well God help Grant if he loses because there will be no atoning for yet another defeat it seems.

So, like Isaac, Avram has been granted a stay of execution, but don't expect any pleas from angels to spare him if the Upton Park unfaithful turn their thumbs down at the end of the next home fixture. Sullivan will be the first to plunge in his knife but Gold will be quick to follow.

And poor Grant's final words?" "Et tu David. Then fall Avram!"

Gold, who has publically backed his manager on several occasions this term, has branded the latest speculation over Grant's future as 'ridiculous'.

He told The Sun: "To talk about sacking Avram after just 10 games is utterly ridiculous.

"He will be given time. I've seen enough to know we have a competent management team, good players and that we'll win games."

Gold also said that Zola would be West Ham's manager for "many years to come".

Is it me or is Stech 3-0?

It is you. Stech has played three and conceded two. Or do you mean three games, three wins? In which case, you are right.

3 games and 3 wins...HammersFan please back me up, from the games started by Stech he has (listed) 13 saves conceded 2 goals with around a 87% save rate, while Boy Green is listed with 28 saves while conceding 17 a 60% success rate. Now i know the Oxford game wasn't a real challenge, but shouldnt Grant Test Stech out??? Boy Green's list of 28 saves is listed very givingly to anyone who has watched our mighty Hammers games cause the post should be credited with atleast 8-10 saves out of those 28.

Anonymous 21:27 is not the same anonymous of 18:06, and who knows what 21:27 was trying to say, i think he was talking to HF, but back to green vs stech. The only time i like seeing boy green between the sticks is when the three lions play my mighty red, white, and blue!!! DEMPSEY!

Where are you getting all of this stay of execution b/s from HF?
I said a week ago that Grant would not be sacked. I felt then that it would take defeat to Stoke, Arsenal, Brum AND West Brom st home for there to be even the vaguest chance of SuGo coughing up the compensation! I guess it is possible, even given the Stoke result, that 3 league defeats coupled with the sort of cluelessness witnessed in most of the first half against Stoke and the final 70 minutes vs Newcastle might just do it, but I wouldn't hold yer breath, mate.
