Premiership Referees are getting worse!

These Premiership referees are definitely going off their trolleys! Every week now, we see a truly ludicrous refereeing decision...or two...or three...or four. This week there were no crazy goals but how on earth Collins was allowed to stay on the pitch at White Hart Lane is completely beyond me. Never mind that it was a cynical professional foul, calculated to take Lennon out and prevent a goal scoring opportunity, Ginge made contact with both feet off the ground and took Lennon out around his shins.

Now I have a huge amount of time for Collins and see his sale as one of the biggest mistakes the club has made in recent years, but that does not excuse that challenge. Collins had a resigned look on his face after the tackle and must have been expecting a red card. The failure of Clown in Chief Clattenburg to produce the appropriate card is typical of this guy's erratic refereeing. I well remember that flying two footed Kuyt challenge against Everton a couple of seasons back, which Clattenburg alone thought merited just a yellow. You wonder if a player is going to have to suffer a terrible leg break before this idiot understands what constitutes a red card challenge!

He was not alone, however. Some of the Blackburn tackling in the game at Stoke had me flinching as I watched MOTD. But Howard Webb, true to his performance in the World Cup Final, thought that thuggery was acceptable and kept his red card in his pocket even when witnessing a two footed lunge aimed directly at an opponent's lower leg. It was a horror tackle that had leg break written all over it but Webb thinks that karate kicks to the head are acceptable so why would he act against a challenge that only risked breaking a leg?

I know referees have a difficult job to do but, in my opinion, these guys are taking incompetence to new levels!

Totally agree HF!. I always said that British referees are destroying the game. Managers take full advantage of this. They encourage players like Henry and K. Davies to play rough because they know they will get away with it. The odds are that even if the referees spot some of the infrigements, a. they will not give a red card, b. that one time that they will not blow their whistle the ball end up in the opposition's net. It is absolutely outragious how this happens every week and encourages the managers to have to play rough in order to have their teams disadvantaged. What I don't understand is why it took so many years for people like you and the British press in general to spot this.

Quiet in here isn’t it? Is that why you have been causing bother with your old friends on the org again?

How have I caused bother over on the Org? I didn't run the bring back Fanno thread did I? Unless, of course, I'm themanfromdelmonte. Endorse below if you agree.

As for quiet, number 4 & 5 on the News Now board for the last 24 hours. Not bad. Second most read report on yesterday's game. I'm happy with that. How many have read your report on the game "Trevor"?
