Cracks appearing between Gold and Allardyce - Wait until Sullivan joins in!

So Gold has contradicted Allardyce's claim that he will be sacked come the end of the season if we don't get promoted. That may sound like a vote of confidence but it sounds more like a back hand swipe to me, with Gold saying he had no idea where the notion had come from - before suggesting it might be the tea lady. It's good to know the char woman is such a good judge at least!

Sullivan has been strangely reticent this season, apart from his "In bed with Dale" session. The pressure to speak out must be building, however, and it is difficult to imagine him keeping his gob shut for too much longer. The owners have backed Allardyce right down the line so far - treatment not extended to Zola and Grant of course - but with boos greeting the final whistle again last night, they must be beginning to wonder about the wisdom of appointing Allardyce to manage the Academy of Football.

As long as things were going well, a percentage of the natives were prepared to accept him - but they would sell their own sisters to Syrian pimps if the price was right! However, with the tide turning and the team struggling, even the pragmatists are having their doubts and are increasingly aligning themselves with the purists. The crassly one dimensional football and obscene percentage game that Allardyce favours has never won him any friends; now it is not winning him many points either.

They won't sack Allardyce of course. That would cost too much. Instead they will sit on their hands and hope upon hope that we somehow stumble over the finishing line in second place. But if we don't get up, they will make it bloody uncomfortable for him to stay. And Big Sam's bigger ego may see him flounce out. It's demeaning enough to be managing a bunch of southern softies in the Championship when, by rights, he should be in the charge of Real Madrid or England, how unbearable would it be to be managing those southern softies with the owners questioning his decisions and tactics?

Who next? Well if Di Canio were to be anointed new manager, the fans would fund and build a statue of Gold and Sullivan outside the Olympic Stadium; and as much as I hate his politics, even I would welcome Il Canio back to Upton Park. We might not win any more games, but at least we would fail with swagger and style!

Absolutely spot on!
As Di Canio said himself after Swindons lackluster 2nd half performance in their record 9th straight win... "Enjoy is not just winning, enjoy is winning in the way (style of play) you want"

We probably sunk last year because the owners hung on to Grant, believing he could save the club until the ast moment. The same thing will happen here, in belief that Allardyce will bring us back up.

If Allardyce were a bit clever, he would have changed his ways. He hasn't, and it is plain kick and rush, seventies football. Outdated, unpractical, ineffective now that everyone has measured us and doesn't fear us anymore.

If Allardyce were to be sacked, regardless of the cost, who do you put on the hot seat, with so few matches remaining ? That would be as suicidal as what Wolves have done.

we are stuck with fat sam now the dildo brothers wont sack him
bfs has only himself to blame his way or no way
what has nolan got on bfs why wont he drop him he does nothing apart from score a few goals and miss as many sitters
we have some good players we could play a high tempo 442 formation with maynard and baldock up front and play the 4 midfielders that can make chances for the two forwards if only he could see what every one else can see we are crap using his tactics did maynard even touch the ball last night

Nolan is a piece of lead. I agree he should be on the bench. We never played better than we did without him on the squad. Who had the brilliant idea of giving him a four year contract ? Who is the fool that would bargain on having Nolan on his team, given the downwards form and shape he has shown ? we're stuck with the fellow...

Another one that is a hoax is Carew. The guy is toasted, just like McCarthy was. Bad choices that become liabilities.

Aaaaaahhhhh, if only we had locked in Ba and Hiltzsperger, we would not be arguing about what is going to happen now...

Allardyce record -

West Brom - sacked as they slid to relegation

Limerick - won the league

Blackpool - did well, no promotion though

Notts County - relegated, then promoted again

Bolton - promotion, reached

Newcastle - sacked, after pressure from fans for playing 'poor football'

Blackburn - mid-table, then sacked

So when people say, 'oooh he's experienced' 'he knows what he is doing!' Take a look at that experience. Only achieved promotion to the prem with Bolton. In my opinion, only did well with Bolton, because they played a unique style of football that no one else in the prem played at that point.

Let's face it, he isn't all that he is cracked up to be.

The right choice would have been Martin o'neill. See the results he's obtaining with an average and limited budget team. They are all fired up, on the pitch and in the stands. Unfortunately O'neill said he was "unimpressed" by West Ham's club organization. A shame.

Tomorrow a shout..
DiCanio IN

A young flaxen-haired boy stands in the BML
His thin clear voice pierces,
then quietens the sounds of the crowd

"The sun on the Boleyn is summery warm.
The Saints and the Royals run free.
But gather together to greet the storm.
Tomorrow belongs to me.

The shirt of the West Ham is Claret and
Blue,
The Thames gives its Gold to the sea.
But somewhere DiCanio awaits the call.
Tomorrow belongs to me.

Fat Sam in his dugout is closing his eyes
The blossom embraces the bee.
But soon, says DiCanio ;
Arise, arise,
Tomorrow belongs to me"
