West Ham Circling Glasgow Rangers Like A Vulture

It's not nice but it's sensible. I must admit that I don't know much about football north of the border - other than it is crap - but it's hard to imagine that Rangers players can't do a job in the Championship and that their players won't command a fee if a club sells them on having signed them up on a contract.

Is rumoured target Celik any good? He sounds like a salad vegetable but he is a winger, and any option to Faubert has to be interesting. Mind you, he is only 5' 9" tall so Allardyce might say he would have signed Snow White if he wanted the seven dwarfs!

He's also only 21 and a Swedish U21 and U19 international, suggesting he is one for the future. On a free, he must be worth a punt surely?

And we are also being linked with Leicester's Matt Mills who was signed for over £5m in the summer and is now, apparently, available on loan. Again this sounds like good business, although with Taylor able to cover at left back and Reid and McCartney therefore options to replace Tomkins and Faye, I'm not convinced we need him. But safety first is sensible and if Sullivan and Gold are happy to splash more of their cash on salaries, who are we to complain?

But where's the logic in Leicester lending Mills to us? It suggests they have given up all hope of catching us and, perhaps, hope that by strengthening us, ensure we take maximum points off of play off rivals.

I can't say I've Celik play but I have seen Greg Wylde play and he was also released by the Gers ... in my opinion Wylde is worth a punt!

Scottish football crap?

Both Celtic and rangers reach uefa cup final in last 8 seasons.

Celtic pumped blackburn and liverpool en route to the final. Two teams operating in a league that your team couldn't cut the mustard in and got relegated fron?

Check your facts first before u go making nonsense statements. Better still, keep blowing your bubbles....must be the most pathetic song in football......

Hail hail!!.....now there's a REAL football song....for real men!!!!

Hmmm. Last EIGHT seasons eh? And how did Scottish clubs cope with Europe this season? Spurs put five or six past one of them if I remember rightly. And how have Rangers tried to keep up? By bankrupting the club! Brilliant! And what will happen to Scottish football if Rangers go to the wall? Present the SPL trophy to Celtic before the season kicks off!

Scottish football's crap...have you had a look at your own game...my god...the only time the ball hits the ground at a west ham game is at half time....was that a hammersfan asking about Scottish clubs in europe, when was the last time west ham were in Europe. When you are in a position to present an argument then we will listen, you have a population 10 times the size of Scotland and if Sky decide the product is not worth it anymore then how many of your precious english clubs will go bankrupt...my god even your own chairman said last year your debt was so bad he didnt know how the club was surviving...in terms of presenting the trophy at the start of the season, please do tell me how many teams have won the EPL in the last decade, think its only 2...not much difference from Scottish football, what happens if Real Madrid go to the wall, do we just give the trophy to Barcelona because nobody else is going to win it are they...a very flawed argument.Tell me how great did the English teams do this year in Europe, the 2 top teams in England didnt get out of the group stages, yet a wee team from Cyprus did, does that make the whole of English football crap....again another flawed argument, and remind me did Spurs qualify from the group in the Europa League...hhhmmmm..so they beat a scottish team by 5 goals, AC MIlan beat Arsenal by 4......take a look out of the bubble...

agree wylde worth a punt, Cewlik is a donkey

Celtic financially would still buy and sell west ham. We own a fully paid for 60,000 seat modern UEFA 5 star Accredited stadium (and fill it week in week out) whereas the mighty 'irons' try and ponce off the great British taxpayer In an attempt to secure the use of the Olympic stadium!!!

And the last euro final the mighty west ham competed in was? Actually, the last time west ham qualified for a euro competition (not inter toto ) was???

Know your clubs place in the pecking order son. The current Celtic team would crucify your mob.......

I'm actually going to agree with hf. Scottish football is crap. I understand your strong protest anonymous its your representative measure but its Bollocks. Celtic would probably be mid table premier league, the rest, fizzy pop. just like west ham. atm.

(Emlyn, please don't use the F word. I've had to edit your post to remove it.)

1756, did a Scottish team even qualify for the group stage? Didn't think so!

1816, you seem to be missing the point somewhat. Just because my cock is bigger than a hamster's, it doesn't mean I'm hung like a donkey! We are in the Championship, Celtic are the biggest team in Scotland. Try comparing your club to Chelsea, or Man Utd or Man City. And where will Celtic be if Rangers fold? Sponsors and TV companies will abandon the SPL on the spot! Celtic and Rangers only have a future by joining English football.

18.16- Thanks for the patronising lesson on our place in the pecking order. Now a geography lesson for you- you're a Scottish team so you will never get the opportunity to see whether you'd 'crucify' my team. So you'll just have to stay a big fish in a shrinking pond.

In the past Scottish football has produced terrific teams but not at the moment and it's hard to see how it can get back to where it was. Ask yourself- could you honestly see a Larsson or a Laudrup moving to Scotland now?

Hammers fan, how do u know your cock is slightly bigger than a hamster's..... Have you got the tweezers and measured? Lol

To get back to all things football, Celtic have still one of the best home record in the champions league to date, beating the likes of man u, juventus, Porto, Lyon, ac Milan, shakhtar, benfica, etc.

Never mind the EPL, Is that enough of a benchmark to Be measured against?

I appreciate it doesn't compare to those crazy nights under the lights at upton park against the likes of Doncaster, Peterborough and millwall (no disrespect intended) but we are trying our best............

Stick to blowing the bubbles and not the hallucinagenic Substances you are obviously administering.

'Nuff said?!

Be fair Anony-Mouse, Gazza might fancy another comeback and would probably walk into the Rangers team.

Anony-mouse says,

You and me would walk into the Rangers team right now HF.

Celtic have always been my Scottish club- Catholic upbringing and all that but an SPL without Rangers would die on it's backside. I saw Owen Coyle score the winner for the bhoys against Dunfermiline in front of about 16,000- if things aren't going well or it's not interesting (ie no Rangers to spark off) their crowds will plummet. Who'd want to buy tickets to see fish shot in a barrel for ever more.

don't even know why am justifying this pathetic thread with a response, but .....

"I saw Owen Coyle score the winner for the bhoys against Dunfermiline in front of about 16,000"

Really?? Did you?? Owen Coyle never played for The Hoops in his life!!

Oh, and it's Bhoys, not bhoys. Names are capitalised in written English.

Anony-mouse,

20.56- Point taken- I was getting my average and instantly forgettable strikers mixed up. Looked up your squad for back then and I think it must have been Tommy Coyne. Coyne/Coyle- only a couple of letters out. Glad to be put right on the bhoys thing, you live and learn. But I noticed you made no mention of the main points I made. I wonder why.

Since the introduction of European competitions, West Ham have been to two major finals (65 & 76), Celtic have been to 3 (60, 70 and 03) and Rangers have never even been to 1. Considering how much more difficult it is for us to qualify, I reckon 2 major finals up against Celtic's 3 isn't that bad and the fact that we've been to more than Rangers is pretty shoddy really, considering how many times we qualified in comparison.

Only idiots would try and defend the SPL in it's current state. Football must be so exciting over there, 07 we did the great escape on the last day beating Man Utd, that was the best day of my life. You wouldn;t even know what that felt like, your seasons are like Groundhog Day, the same every year.

21:57 like your style keep those sweaty's in their place along with HF Niiiiiiiiceeee!

Anonymous said...

Nice to see the sweatys' chip on shoulder attitude.Celtic and Rangers fans kid themselves that they would be top of the pile in the EPL.

As to the question when was West Ham last in Europe, well we've just come back from Dubai-LOL

Didn't rangers reach the uefa cup final, bout 3 or 4 years ago?

Rangers Euro Finals in 1961 (First British Club to get to a final), 1967, 1972 (winners), and 2008. Plus would have been in the Champions League Final in 1993 but for Bernad Tapies Match fixing (fact). Oh btw. We beat English Champs Leeds home and away in the qualifiers. English football is NOTHING without sky money. And how can you call it ENGLISH with the amount of overated foreingers you have.

PM24 said...

It's English because our best English players play in it. Best Scottish players play in England aswell, in the championship
