He won't get in either team. He should stay and eventually become part of the backroom - a real example - and end up a West Ham legend. He has found his home and should not risk going out with a whimper at a big club.
If we sell Parker and green I think we could have some room to make some moves. Get a manager like chris Houghton, a players coach like Zola but better than Zola cause he's disciplined and knows what he's doing.
Parker is a hero at West Ham, he'll be nothing more than 'one in the background' at one of the top clubs. Depends if he wants success, or to be loved by thousands of people.
He will go. I fancy Man Utd as the destination now. Scholes is going over the top and Carrick isn't up to the job. I think Parker could hold in the United team. Fergie would tell him what to do, how to do it and brain him with a flying boot if he lost positional discipline. And the mancs might shell out £15m. If we go down, we can't afford to keep him Stani!

If Parker was 23 and playing like this, I'd have believed you. But I'd be surprised if any of the top 4 come in, especially at ₤15m!
We CAN afford to keep him if G&S realise his true worth to this club and the youngsters we'd have to bring on should we go down. Of course we can.
15 million for a player who will be 31 next season? Grow up. 3 to 4 at the most. Even LESS if we go down which is almost certain, just to get him off the wage bill.

The 5-1 hammering of Burnley shows that our team is more than good enough to come straight back up. Whether Karren and her pets realise this is a different matter.
The trouble is Stani, Nolan was on £20k per week and Parker is on £80k per week, Do the maths. And Parker has a release clause and Nolan didn't. Oh, and West Ham have a huge debt relative to earnings.

As for the result against Burnley, that was with a number of "Premier League" players in the lineup. They will be gone. Would Hines, Stanislas, Sears, Spector, Reid, etc have done that well? Maybe. But maybe not.
The terrifying truth is the Championship is among the toughest leagues in the world. Period. We will need someone who knows how to navigate it on a budget. We will have 4 years of parachute payments to work with, and I do suspect we will come back up in time for the Olympic Stadium. The revenue generated there will be reason enough for the nitwits in charge to splash some cash.
But there remains a good chance that the Sunderland game will be the last top tiee match ever played at Upton Park.

You're overstating the wage thing. Look at it this way; we saved £40k getting Ben Haim off our books so that's half Parker's wage. Get rid of another fringe, of which we have plenty...or just Dyer and there we have Parker's wages.

As for the release clause; we can convince him, I really believe it. Consider his age and then consider none of the top 6 coming in for him and all of a sudden we have a situation where we'd be favourites to keep him because it would not be worth his while going anywhere in terms of being settled, his wage, his role in the club...everything.
We should have a 1 year plan to get back into the prem (if we go down) and leave no stone unturned. Put that to Parker and I think he will stay. He's in a good place...in every way.
You are in dream land. Parker has just broken into the England team one season away from the European Championships. Tell me, why would he spend that crucial season in the Championship? Not a chance in hell!
As for the wages, you do a typical Stani by talking about £40k a week saved on Ben haim whilst omitting that he was replaced by Bridge on £93k per week, not to mantion Keane's £60k per week and Ba's £40k per week. The wage bill is huge and has to be slashed.
The players who will definitely go are:
Keane £60k, Hitz £50k, Bridge £93k, Dyer £80k (thank God his contract expires this summer!), Parker £80k, Faubert (Bosman too!) £30k, Upson (Bosman)£60k and Cole £40k. That lot will total £493k per week or £25.6m per annum.
Add in £6million for selling Cole and £8m for Parker, and that covers the cost of going down - £40million. If we can then bounce straight back, the Davids won't be too badly out of pocket will they?
The question is, will we have enough then to come back up? Team would be:
Green: Spence, Tomkins, da Costa, New left back; Barerra, Noble, Spector, Stanislas; Ba, Sears.

Actually, we would still have Piquionne and Kovac if I am right and we would save still more by not paying any wages to Obinna and probably Gabbidon although he could do a job in the Championship! And, of course, we would have Ilunga to play left back and maybe even Boa for another season; he could do a job in the division below. Then there is Reid to cover the centre backs, Hines and Nouble as cover up front, Jacobsen to cover right back, Specs to cover left back and I have written off O'Neil who may yet return!
HF is right, Stani. He is as good as gone. Considering how dysfunctional our owners and management are I think he would go to any EPL team.
And I think Green goes as well. In fact, I think youre spot on HF as to who will remain. Ba's deal is so incentive based due to the fitness issues he may very well be the key to any chance we have. I actually like the notion of him and Sears together up front for some reason.
We have a chance to come back up if we hire an experienced manager.

Stani, the loan deal for Keane stipulated that the transfer becomes permanent if we stay in the EPL with an additional 5 million pounds going to Spuds. If we go down he goes back north.
Yes, my point is they are leaving if we get relegated so you can't use them as a reason against us finding enough money to keep Parker. Come on HF, keep up granddad.

Their inclusion in my figures helps your argument. Take them out and we have to save even more to cover the loss of Prem revenues, making it all the more certain that Parker leaves!
Ba could very well stick around next season simply because he wont pass a medical anywhere else (as Stoke proved). He will be key to us bouncing back next year if played up front (as he will be when we have a competent manager). He will have a field day against Championship defenders.
