The unavailability of Bridge to play against the club that owns his contract poses yet another problem for Grant. As if playing the multi million pound outfit isn't a big enough of a problem in itself, we now find ourselves going into the game without a specialist left back in the squad. Incredibly, this was always going to happen because we knew about this fixture and still chose to leave Ilunga out of the squad.
So who plays left back? Gabbidon? We know that doesn't work! Spector? Anybody got an abacus to keep a tally of the score? Upson if he is fit? Anybody got a mobility scooter he could borrow? I suppose Grant could destroy Tomkins' confidence once and for all by getting him to fill in at left back, or by moving Jacobsen to the left flank and chucking Tomkins in at right back again. Bugger it, the boy is only a future England player so why does his confidence matter?
It's a mess and it is a mess entirely of our own making. No forward thinking whatsoever. In fact, no defensive forward thinking whatsoever!
Never mind, Gabbidon says we should go out with an attacking attitude so perhaps we won't need defenders! I bet Mancini is shaking in his Armani suit!

First of all he should never have let spence go out on loan, then he could have shifted jacobson across to left-back. What Grant will probably do will put upson at left-back with gabidon and Da Costa in the middle and probably Jacobson at right-back.
Kolarov lol!!!!
Sorry....
the best option is to play upson there if fit but if not gabbs to play there he didnt do that bad when he played there earlier this year so aslong as tomkins is back in the team
Our own making? Grant's making HF! Still got a soft spot for him haven't you? Ain't that sweet ...
I think he should do what Tommy suggested. If not then Boa.
Boa Morte LOL
only way to look at it positively is it'll prevent Spuds from getting into the champions league
What does it matter?
We aren't going to win that game whatever team we put out!
Rest any one with niggles or fitness problems and all be fit for the three that will decide our fate.
Having said that do I really want to sit through another season of my team playing in the wrong league for its ability???

Just to make matters worse I saw Ilunga play for reserves against Manchester United reserves a few weeks back and he looked a class above the rest in fact back to his top form.
As a matter of interest goal differences at the bottom of the league are all getting very close. What would happen if two teams had the same number of points and the same goal difference in third position?
LBM!!! If not only for the comedy factor!!
I say we don't start any defenders. Maybe it will throw off money city. Ahhh yes the element of surprise
Play 3 centre backs 5 in the midfield and 2 up top, no need for a left back then. Sorted!
They can't organise themselves with 4 at the back, God help us if they tried to play 3!
Less to organise so less to worry about. It can't be any worse than playing the normal static formation we've been playing all season, if we gonna go we should go down attacking
