Hodgson Overlooks West Ham Players Again!

So what is it with Woy? Is he trying to endear himself with the Liverpool fans after his unhappy time with the club? Why are Shelvey and Sterling in the squad, but Noble and Nolan aren't?

Nolan, for me, is one of the great missed opportunities for England. People will say he is too slow, but I will give you Teddy Sherringham in return - and like Sherringham, Nolan has this invaluable ability to read the game and know where to be at the crucial moments. He's done it for years now and with top quality players around him, would score a stack of goals from midfield. With just three forwards in the squad, the situation was crying out for Nolan!

As for Noble, he has been playing and running his socks off this season and has done far more to deserve a call up than either of the Liverpool men.

Noble is a donkey, absolutely useless one at that. Gets man of the match and Hammer of the year because of idiots voting for him just because they want him to win rather than deserving to win. Three times he lost the ball due to messing around against City which led to attacks on our goal. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see him play for England - it'd be so funny seeing him eventually mess up in front of millions. Championship player who no-one was interested in buying when West Ham were relegated. Hee haw.

Because your players have no talent!

The games gone crazy? Oh you're so bonkers aren't you? Stuck in the past with your humour and racist views. The last person in England to be making jokes about Hodgsons rhotacism. Bet you love jim davidson and were gutted when freddie starr got arrested? The reason Hodgson didn't so much as consider those hoofball mechants noble and nolan is because he's building a team to qualify for Brazil . You know nothing about football do you?

I am relieved. England are going nowhere other than towards our bi-annual dose of disappointment; I'd rather our boys were fit and focussed on the matter in hand- west ham staying on the prem league, which despite our good start is far from a done deal.

Team of quality? lol. No wonder you deemed to sign off as anonymous. The latest squad has absolutely no class -notwithstanding the omission of Nolan and Noble. There is no current England squad member who is genuinely world class. That term is banded around so freely these days by journo's who want to lick up their playing friends. You only have to listen to old timers like Andy Gray on Talksport to realise that. Roy Hodgson is just Graham Taylor in a different suit and with a different haircut. For Carlton Palmer read Jonjo Shelvey.
Trouble is, he is so football supermarket he doesn't even know it. That'll be Lidl - not Waitrose.

I completely agree that players should be picked purely on the basis of ability rather than the club they play for.

However the harsh reality is it will always be difficult for small, unfashionable clubs like West Ham to produce England internationals anymore.

That said the players you mention are simply not good enough.

Absolutely. We were so unfashionable back in '66 as well I suppose.
And players of ability? Who would that be then?

I am pleased with the form and contribution of Noble and Nolan to the West Ham cause. The truth is, your suggestion that they may even be worthy of consideration has more to do with the utter mediocrity of the current England set-up, from FA down to the team itself. They probably could do a job every bit as good as most of the current crop. Would that be good enough? No, sir. We are total pants on the world stage. Sad but true.

It's because your players, to use a football term, are shit.
