Please Can I Sell To Manchester City?

How comes Kaka has cost Real Madrid a little over HALF what Man City reputedly offered for him? Kaka claims he has agreed to move to help AC Milan. Some help! I bet Milan would rather have received City's £100m than Real's E67.2m - or has the pound really collapsed that far against the Euro under Gordon Frown?

We thought City had paid over the odds when they bought Bellyache but, by this yardstick, we should have been asking for somewhere between eighteen and twenty million! I know these Arabs have more money than sense sometimes but surely somebody inside the Abu Dhabi Group must be asking a few questions about the way City are being taken for mugs in the transfer market.

Before the abuse starts, I accept that West Ham were almost as stupid under Turds and Eggs; the fees paid were not in the same league but the wages offered to Dyer, Neill and Ljungberg were beyond crazy. But two wrongs don't make a right do they? No matter how much money City's owners have, there will be a finite amount somewhere along the line and the more that City waste now, the less they will have to play with in the future. Paying double the going rate to buy something is not a sensible way to run any business!

you are assuming that City offered £100m...based on what was written in the press........schoolboy error.

Are you sure City offered £100 Million? No transfer was ever agreed. Even at the time, most informed observers estimated City's bid to be around 50-60 Million.

weve only bought one player ,what are u talking about

Hammersfan said...

I didn't see any denial from City. And look what you paid for Bellyache!

1658 you seem to have been in the same deep sleep as Snow White. I offer you Bellyache, Given, Ribena, Wright-Phillips and Barry. That's more than one isn't it?

Anonymous said...

yawn - same old same old - this is sooo boring.

Anonymous said...

What a load of shit. You can't deny every rumour banded around. Even if it was 30 mill over whats been paid..which it probably wasnt, were talking the best player in the world here. It not like were going to offer 30mill over the top for everyone is it you chump?

I quote: "Even if it was 30 mill over whats been paid..which it probably wasnt, were talking the best player in the world here. It not like were going to offer 30mill over the top for everyone is it you chump?"

God, how I would love to do business with you mate! "Look, it's the best second hand car on the market, so what it is almost twice the going rate, it's not as if you're going to buy two cars is it you chump?"

Anonymous said...

its really quite simple, if your club gets taken over my the megarich then you will get mugged off for every and any player you bid for, does no one remember when roman took over chavski???? they spent a lot on nothing.

Hammersfan said...

Guys, you wont get your comments published if it includes obscene language so why bother. Kids read this site. Show some respect please.

Deary me im a blue and well it was maybe 90 - 100 million we offered to say 100 million is close enough. Why are some of our fans saying that it might not have been 100 when you know damn well that it was, it wasnt embarrasing to not secure Kaka you know!

Hammersfan said...

Only if you let them mate. You can dig your heels in and just pay 5% over the going rate instead of 45%!

Hammersfan said...

Well said Tom!

What you and others just do not unerstand is that the wealth of the Al Nayan family is endless.
It doesn't matter how much they pay for players, they will always have 100's of billions more.

Anonymous said...

what? were talking the best player in the world, the winter transfer window, ooodles of cash, whats the problem??? Im not sure if youve noticed but our trophy cabinet isnt exactly overloaded and east manchester on a wet night isnt going to pull the best players in the world in without flashing a few quid about is it?

Hammersfan said...

Some guy has just typed about 250 words but included the F word. As soon as I read it, the comment was deleted. What's the point guys?

David@shepton said...

What a silly article. Never at any time did City offer 100m. Those figures were bandied about by the Italina press and Kaka's hangers on.

You only have to witness the behaviour of Kaka now, with all and sundry demanding a bit of the action to fully appreciate that when Gary Cook stated that they had lost their bottle, he was probably right.

City Blue

Your obviously a jealous tosser why dont you worry about your own club who is now owned by the Icelandic government......... If bellamy is so shit why was your club in uproar when he left and did he receive so much stick when we visited upton last season Why? because you didnt want him to go

Mark said...

Jealousy is such a terrible thing. If Man city have the money, and are prepared to pay over the odds, then let them. And before you say anything, yes I am a Man City fan, and I am looking forward to success after so many years of failure

Self indulgant clown suggest you study why your povery striken outfit is now in the dubious hands of an Icelandic "asset management" company untill they can peddle you off to recoup the debt owed by Gudmundsson.
It will be pass the unwanted parcel at the first oppertunity so no development projects and
not much in the kitty for a transfer policy either.
Much more fun to a Mancunian outsider is that you have club debts of £45million and owe Sheffield United a minimim £27 million with a payment due on the 1st July.
All down to the dodgy Tevez deal, you should have been relegated into the Championship by points deduction not blag your way out of trouble.
Stick to talking up your clubs limited potential and uncertain future and not lies and fiction on MCFC.

Anonymous said...

ok, sorry about f-word first time around - parapharsing now.

1. your source/evidence of the amount we paid for bellamy?

2. were you so quick to believe the tabloid rags when they were full of west ham's impending doom?

3. why the attitude towards the blues? are you a rag like lost of you down in london?

Hammersfan said...

Personally I was delighted to see the little Welsh tosser go. I hated him. He is an obnoxious injury prone thug who is no better than average. That was my opinion when we signed him and I have never shifted from that. You were mugged when you bought him. How many games did he manage? How many goals?

Before you criticise my team for being mega-rich and paying over the odds for players, you should consider this:-

The Hammers are a sleeping giant - like man city. Your team have a brilliant young manager, a fanatical fanbase, and are inexplicably playing beautiful football in spite of your financial difficulties (which have nothing to do with your buisiness, but everything to do with Icelandic Banks).

This holding company are just a stopgap until somebody with billions buys you, which is inevitable. If I was a foreign billionaire, I would be looking at West Ham, not Portsmouth with their tin shed of a stadium.

So have a think before you criticise Man City. This could be you soon!

17:16 - I think you hit the nail on the head nicely there.
I know the numbers weren't quite the same but I remember thinking the same thing when we signed Lucas Neil and paid him a huge wage. Why else was he (or any player for that matter) gonna come to us at the time??

7 games 4 goals not a bad return then he was obviously injured. We officialy paid 12mil for him which could rise you paid 7.5mil. If we pay three times over the odds should we not have paid 22.5mil for him if you theory is correct.... any way West Ham have just bid Ade Akinbyi its breaking news on Sky Sports BUBBLES

boltonfanman said...

You do not know what any of these players cost unless the club discloses it (hence the word undisclosed being used on there websites 99% of the time) which rarely happens. You only know what lazy red top reporters decide to make up. I read bellamy was £6m in one paper but £14m in another which is even near the truth who knows? But I don't think these Arabs are stupid, as practically every business they own is a massive success. Maybe there is a touch of jealousy in this story, I'd have thought people would want other clubs to challenge the so called top 4 (who are and have been for many years/always by far the top spenders its how they got where they are now!) otherwise we will end up like the Scottish league.

Hammersfan said...

Fair enough MoneyBags but I hope not. I genuinely would rather stay mid table, developing young talent, than become the next Plastics. I was toying with a new nickname for City. In the light of so many of the replies on here, has anybody labeled you Shameless F.C. yet?

The thing is, I had a soft spot for Chelsea before Abromovitch because of their tradition of playing the game as it should be played and the same goes for City. I would love to see all clubs forced to balance their books over a three or five year period. That isn't jealousy, I just want to see real competition. Don't you yearn for the days when Forest, Villa, Derby and Man City (old style) could win the "Premiership"? I remember QPR finishing second and Ipswich under Bobby Robson ripping up entire footballing forests. God, even West Ham finished third.

bellamy scored important goals at just the right time of the season for us. on his day he is one of the paciest players we have.

Apart from the signing of Robinho all our transfer fees have not been OTP, our wages maybe. Please tell me why it is not acceptable for city to conduct themselves in the transfer market in the way they have, but it is widely accepted by all for Real Madrid to reform the so called GALACTICOS without a moan or a compliant from yourselves or from any other Premiership supporter.
Dare I say I sense a hint of jealousy, I think so, then had city not been the benefactor of some wealthy arab's money I would too.
Give us a break and support as at least we will attempt to topple the big four, who knows your fairy godmother could be just around the corner.

Anonymous said...

it don't matter what was offered he is now at Real Madrid

17:24 Bellamy was nursed through his injuries time and again while he was with us. He got fit, played a few games then f****d off when City waved some cash at him. That's why there was 'uproar' when he left.

I am not jealous of your team's cash. Wish you well with it, but I can't say I wasn't happy when the poisoned dwarf spent the last few weeks out injured.

Sure is a crazy world for you west ham fans, crazy enopugh to accept being a feeder club about to go nowhere exactly.

Who are you to judge us?, jumped up puppet.

NEVER at any time did man city offer any money to milan for kaka, it was them who contacted us to see if we would be interested. when city finally did meet their people which was in the hotel waiting room in milan, all they were interested in was how much kaka's father would get and would not answear any questions city put to them, the meeting lasted less than ten minutes and city walked out. FACT!!!!!!!!!

Hammersfan said...

Has it occured to you, from the fact that I publish them, that the childish insults are water off a duck's back guys? Try to offer something a little more constructive to the debate eh? I criticise my own club in the article so the insults are silly.

Lord Blackadder said...

What on earth is your obsession with slagging off Man City?
I'm just curious that's all.

Anonymous said...

Why is it only fans of clubs who are skint who are bleating about this?

If City want to pay £200m for someone it's just tough - they can afford it, you can't. Life's a bitch.

And why would the Arabs pay for anything in pounds? Do you think they go to the Post Office to get a 0% commission buyback or something?

Anonymous said...

i hear that both west ham and newcastle right upto the last minute tried to get the new owner of portsmouth to buy them instead, just not your day eh??

Hammersfan said...

LOL Two articles, one of which was hugely tongue in cheek, is hardly an obsession. Now if you ant to see an obsession, check out what I write about Tootatthem and Signoninpool!

GoaterisGod said...

Hmmm second article in two days about City, either you are VERY jealous and just can't stop thinking about us...or you are a closet blue not ready to admit it yet!

Hammersfan said...

Or maybe you are in the news one way or another?

hammersfan as a west ham fan i do like to read your blogs as i find them enjoyable aswell as funny and it is great to see that we are n ot just appealing to west ham fans i saw city fans bolton and sheffield united at one point keep up the good debate blogs

just a thought... all the signings city made to our one. can u mancs read??? if so have a look at the table. coyi

Hammersfan,
Guess you underestimated how touchy we Manchester fans are to critism against Gods own Club.
There has been a rolling media barrage against us since last August making your tongue in cheek article seem upbeat compared to the rubbish we have read, listened to or watched, accusing us of everything from the Black Death to ruining football.
So we the fans have dug in behind the club and defend our corner in numbers against any percieved slight or cynical comment.
So hope that explains our reaction and the sense of humour bypass.
Not personal or anti West Ham either we save that for the pretend Manchester club.

Hammersfan said...

2125, I'm used to it mate and don't object really. The passion is good. If I write anything about MU or Chelsea, it is completely ignored. You can tell a real club by the volume of replies. Tootatthem, Signoninpool and yourselves real with real fire in the belly. The sad thing is Newcastle, those guys are resigned now. Sad.

Hammersfan said...

Re above - should say "react with real fire in the belly"!

Hammersfan,

You do make some good points, even if they do sound a little bitter sometimes. I am a 40 year+ blue and remember some very dark times as well as (unlike a some of my younger brethren) some very good times. If the tables were reversed and whu had this take over, I can honestly say I would be happy for you guys. Anyone with a chance to break the top 4 is good news. We are, however, never going to go back to the days that anyone can win the league, you have to accept that, sad as it is.

as for our signings (Sorry dunno how to quote but..

"I didn't see any denial from City. And look what you paid for Bellyache!

1658 you seem to have been in the same deep sleep as Snow White. I offer you Bellyache, Given, Ribena, Wright-Phillips and Barry. That's more than one isn't it? "

Bellamy... Yes over the odds, and he will be backup next season but MH loves him, personally cant stand the ****

Robinho, Robinho's signing was exactly what it looked like. It was a statement that we are prepared to spend and hopefully attract this calibre of player to the club in the future.

Given, worth every penny. feel sorry for Hart though that lad has England No1 qualities.

SWP, EVERY blue is proud he is back. City is his home, and we did pay about a third of the price we sold him for (Best signing we made last season for feelgood factor alone).

Barry, time will tell MH seems to like his defensive mids , dunno how that will sit with adug.

The fact is, we have the makings of a nice team here, good youth coming through, and they will, There's a real prospect in Onouha, and good young talent already, Stephen Ireland came through the ranks had a blinding season and has outshone Robinho, Elano etc all season.

End of the day, it doesn't matter to me what anyone thinks, my team has always been my team (like yours has) we can now, however, find reasons to justify the optimism we feel at the start of every season that usually gets trashed after a couple of matches. Your a hammer matey, you know the feeling!

Getting bored of us being linked with every player going though, have to admit.

GL WHU next season, as long as you do the usual beating of the rags, City will always love ya!

Hammersfan said...

Hi Dave, great reply.

All jesting apart, I'd rather City win the Prem than Liverpool or Chelsea. Sorry, have a soft spot for MU and Arsenal because of the way they play football. I hate Ronaldo but he is one hell of a footballer and Rooney is going to score the winner in the World Cup Final!

This blog really is all you have in your life, isn't it? I mean, I've got kids, work hard etc etc. No way have I got time to put in all the time you do writing the shit you do in your, what? Articles? Posts? Christ knows what to call the pony you put out mate. I would urge you, unless you're a masochistic weirdo who enjoys the derision of, and I mean this, EVERYONE: give it up son. Really. You're an embarrassment.

Hammersfan said...

You are back! I guess when you work as a security guard it probably takes you a few hours to knock up a paragraph. Takes me about 15 mins to write an aticle. Three a day amounts to 45 minutes. Add in a few replies and I reckon this consumes about one and a half hours of my life each day. And that is ith the TV on in the background. Breakfast News at the moment! This took 62 seconds!

Anonymous said...

23:13 - '....enjoys the derision of, and I mean this, EVERYONE....' ?????

Err, well actually, not everyone mate. Me and a few others, including a couple on this thread, think his (Fanno's) articles are really good. Sorry to disappoint......

If it upset's you that much, why bother coming on here at all?

2 City blogs in a week. Someone does appear to have a little obsession going on. I know being a Hammer must a tiresome boring and often tedious existence but don't take it out on a club that is actually going somewhere. The Hammers to go down next season would be lovely, you can't keep playing the likes of Diego Tristan week in week out and expect to stay in the prem. Keep chomping on those jellied eels.
