Upson Off to Man City, Liverpool or Arsenal? Or Just Selling Up?

According to reports, Upson has his house on the market and that has kick started rumours that he is on his way out of Upton Park. It seems a reasonable assumption to make. Why else would he be selling a £2million pad with the market down 20% on last year? That is quite a sum to write off! Unless, of course, he is buying a £3million pad. A 20% markdown on £3million is more than 20% down on £2million isn't it?

However, Duxbury has paved the way by saying that players who don't want to stay will be allowed to go. Who knows what secret deals were done in January when Bellyache packed his golf clubs and buggered off to semi retirement at Unreal City. The rumours were rife then that Upson was going to follow him out of the door, especially when he missed the FA Cup games against Barnsley and Hartlepool. Then came the talk about how desperate he was to play in the Champions League to enhance his England chances.

Personally I expect him to go. West Ham will be able to say how the club didn't want to stand in his way in a World Cup year and point to his increasing years. I can hear it now, "£12million for a player who has ticked past his 30th birthday, blah, blah, blah". In fact Unreal City might fancy a bit of him too and come in with a bid, forcing Arsenal or Liverpool to go higher to secure his services.

Anything over £10million would be good business in my opinion. Upson is good but is nothing special when all is said and done. He is a stopper and stoppers can be replaced.

i wish city wud jst sign one of these average players to put people like me out of our misery, i'm gettin sick of us being linked with decent players and , cos of Sparky, we end up with old regects e.g. Bellamy, Bridge

what a saddo you are hammerfan i dont get the point of your silly little website, why dont you get a job or even a social life.

Can't see whinging Wenger bringing in a 30 year old. Liverpool?? Hmmm not sure. I could see him at Man City maybe but that doesn't give him his Champion's League 'wish' not straight away anyway. With all due respect City fans, I can't see you making the Champion's League for a couple of seasons yet, Europa qualification maybe.

Maybe he just wants a pad with a bigger garden HF, getting ready for his retirement, big potting shed, room for a greenhouse, somewhere to plant the asparagus and tomatoes, maybe a nice pond, build a rockery.....

1807, back again! What a sad life you must have! You spend so much time on here, posting your bitter and witless comments. I have a job thanks, and a social life. And a family. And a brain. Jealous?

Hammersfan, great post, like the humour!

All the Citeh fans can stop with this arrogant nonsense.

Us Gooners get it from the Sp*rs fans every year and then lo and behold around March or April "St Totteringhams day" celebrations begin!

It takes more than (a bucket load of) cash to challenge the so-called "big four", which may or may not be to the detriment of the premier league as a competition, but it is nevertheless REALITY.

It is funny to read your articles Hammerfan. Initially I was a little bit confused as to the point that you were trying to make regarding City but now I realize you are just a bit of a wind up merchant. However a good mate is a West Ham fan and as a result I have nothing against your team, even though you obviously have alot against mine

Should be "You're brilliant" 1807. Tell me, why do you keep coming back? Surely you have something better to do with your life given you are supposed to hate it on here. Between your posts, I've checked though the lease on a flat I am buying for investment. No mortgage mate, that's how sad I am. Don't mean to gloat but honestly, you are an A1 pillock! Now, walk the site again to check there are no intruders before you post again about what a sad git I am. Mum lives 100 miles away by the way. Don't have a cat or a dog, spend too long abroad.

Nothing against your mob mate. The Gurkhas are mercenaries too and they are lovely guys when not killing the enemy; expect Joanna Lumley to join your board soon!

1807 again thought the whole point of your silly little website was to provoke people, seems your biting harder than anyone, when mummys gone to bed,do you log on to porn sites saddddooooo!!!!!

Hammersfan said...

LOL Biting, mois? Not at all mate. IF I wanted to watch porn, I'd wait for the kids to go to bed rather than Mum. But, as it happens, I don't need to watch it. You will discover the real thing is better one day. Well, maybe not, a nightwatchman isn't a great catch.

18.07 again love a good banter but your good, please enlighten me though, why does a guy that travels abroad so often with a great family kids n all thats really well off, feel the need to have his own website, and on his website his only objective is to provoke a reaction.i stumbled across this last night on newsnow, and i am truly fascinated that someone as sad as you exists

I don't think he will be coming to Liverpool somehow, we havent the spare cash for an extra defender, good blog by the way.

I don't respect Upson at all for stating he wants Champs football. Im sorry, but he didn't play well enough at Arsenal to stay there, and then for him to say "i had champs league football at Arsenal" is a real 'fuck-off then' comment. Sold his house in essex? good, maybe Bates should buy it.

Break it up lads - I cannot believe this 1807 moron who is slating a west ham fan for writing a blog. You're the sad manc wasting your time arguing over nothing. You both need to get a life if you ask me! We still finished higher than you this season and how much money have you spent? Robinho my arse - Carlton Cole. See you next year.

I would sell Upson for the right price and any deal involving Man City should include Micah Richards, as feel under Zola he could rediscover the form that made him one of England Top Defenders. 12million for Upson would be good business given his age.

Upson will probably still be at Upton Park next year but I really wouldn't blame the club for taking £12m for him.
