Super Bowl Super Farce!

I didn't see it. I know nothing about the sport. I've tried watching it and hated it. But even I can understand the farcical nature of the winning score, with the conceding team allowing the opponent to touch down unchallenged and the scorer himself desperately trying NOT to score - and falling on his arse in the process!

Freddie the Fly Tipper should change codes!

Follow the link for an explanation of the bizarre events.

The patriots didn't want the clock to be run down because it was inevitable that the Giants were going to score. So they let the Patriots let them score sooner rather than later to give themselves them more time to get a touch down of their own and win the game.

Who cares Tommy? I sure as hell don't.

All sport has its pros and cons, AJ. The NFL is run as a business unlike no other league in the world. EVERYONE makes money. And gobs of it.

Having said that, my favorite part of my work today was visiting a customer and having the following dialogue;

HIM: That was one hell of a game, wasnt it?

ME: You bet it was. I still cant believe it. And to think.....West Ham played better AFTER Nolan got sent off!!!

Very long, silent pause and stare. Then he remembered who he was talking to and laughed his ass off.

There are a lot more who understand and care about American Football than Cricket. I am not one of them. American Football, Cricket, ... who really cares? I mean really...

Wow HF! This is truly desperate. Who gives a monkeys about this?

So this is now a QPR/ West Ham/ American football blog. Can see why you're branching out though- no responses to your West Ham stuff and all the Rangers fans calling you nasty names.

I don't think HF cares much about cricket either Sav. Pakistan have just beaten the world number 1. England...a 3-0 whitewash in Dubai. Did you watch it HF?

Took you long enough Stani! Dreadful performance. Truth is, they couldn't be arsed. Mind you, your spinner is a cheating chucker!

I think you'll find a billion plus people in India and Pakistan may just disagree with you there Sav mate.

Sorry Stani. No offence. You know I am not into cricket. Congrats on beating the world number 1. Being the World number 10, I guess means your really bottom.

Jameson, point taken, you are probably right and I am wrong. But that doesn't make the sport interesting. Other than the very few countries that have a tradition of playing cricket, the rest of the world don't understand or care to know anything about it.

You know HF, I'm not one to show off or rub things in. And stop crying, he's not a chucker. Take defeat like a man.

Jameson is right Sav, you've got 1.2 billion just there.

Did you catch Noble's performance against Millwall Stani?

Sav said...

Noble was great against Millwal but England really sucks at cricket HF! Even I know that...

Hammersfan said...

Still number one in the world, but I accept they have gone over the top and without new blood coming through, that spells trouble. Look at Chelsea!

Stani said...

Yup, as I stated on a previous post. Did you catch it against Ipswich HF...and pretty much every other time he's played? Hahaaa To think they're calling on him to be captain on Dale's blog?! Dear me.

Still and elitist sport in this country Sav. That's why England hardly produce naturally talented and exciting cricketers. And when they do, they go by their favourite book 'orthodoxy' and ruin the talent
