Duxbury Tells Inquiry He Has No Regrets

A defiant Scott Duxbury has mounted a vigorous defence of his management of West Ham, insisting he had no regrets over giving oral cuddles to Carlos Tevez's lawyer and claiming he would do the same again.

In his long-awaited appearance before the Chilcot Inquiry, the former West Ham CEO and club legal adviser denied that he had signed and retained Tevez on the basis of a "lie".

He suggested the club could now be faced with the threat of a Tevez-armed Tottenham Hotspurs if he had not taken action to sign and retain the Argie hitman.

Asked at the end of six hours of testimony by inquiry chairman, Sir John Chilcot, whether he had any regrets, he said: "Responsibility, but not a regret for signing and playing Carlos Tevez."

"I think that he was a monster and if allowed to join Tottenham would have threatened not just West Ham but the whole Premiership. And in the circumstances that we faced then, but I think even if you look back now, it was better to deal with this threat, to sign him for West Ham."

One member of the audience shouted out: "What, no regrets? Come on". Then as he left, another audience member heckled: "You are a liar," while another added, "And a murderer of our beloved club".

His voice apparently beginning to fade, after what had been a largely assured and fluent performance, he insisted that West Ham - and in particular the Board - should feel an "immense sense of pride" for the role they had played.

"I had to take this decision as the club's legal adviser and then CEO. It was a huge responsibility and there is not a single day that passes by that I don't reflect and think about that responsibility and so I should," he said.

"But I genuinely believe that if we had let Tevez join Tottenham, even with what we know now, we would still have had to have dealt with him, possibly in circumstances where the threat was worse".

"In the end it was divisive and I am sorry about that and I did my level best to bring people back together again but if I am asked whether I believe West Ham are safer, more secure, that West Ham is better, that the club's position in the Prem is more secure, I believe indeed West Ham are."

Tomorrow Duxbury will return to the Inquiry to answer questions on his claim that Harry Redknapp has weapons of mass destruction available to use at forty five minutes notice.

Just think, even though i single handedly saved West Ham from extincion, you can now happily wank yourself to sleep tonight! Who will you vent your sexual frustration on now though? You pathetic excuse for a man?

Funny, I don't need to do that. I bet you have blisters though!

I have many blisters on my feet, walking backwards and forwards through the gates of West Ham over the past few years, something i understand you havent had to worry about! Have you seen the ground from Google Earth recently?

You should get some shoes instead of wearing those clogs. Still, one day you may get a decent job and then, who knows, you might be able to afford the bus fare!

Duxbury can you confirm this.

Rumour has it that Brady punched Duxburry in the face, then grabbed his balls while pulling his eybrows out with her teeth - saying 'this club ain't big enough for the both of us, and your eyebrows!

It's also been rumoured that Nani has been locked into a broom cupboard and has become Brady's sex slave in between tea duty.

I love to 'watch' you wet spammers fight among yourselves, it's brilliant just like the fat pot bellied pitch invaders (they should make that into a video game ha ha ha ha ha and call it mock the spammer) You spammers have no class at all none, laid bare on this blog for all the world to see just like the millwall night. Fabulous blog keep up the good work hammersfan spammers kicking lumps out of each other when they don't have anyone else to vent their violence on and you call millwall fans animals CLASSIC ha ha ha ha ha ha COME ON YOU SPURS

Sadly Yid some of your points are valid. This blog is a total joke amongst West Ham fans but sadly this complete waste of space brings out the worst in a lot of us. He never goes to games and it is questionable whether he actually supports us. Most call him a Spud and with his roots that is hardly surprising. My thoughts are we should all ignore him and he might go away but he is a bit like Marmite and it is fun at times but we all should know better.

Bruce, the same thing happens on Tottenham discussion boards of course. but you are right about some of our fans. Anybody who doubts Darwin should take a closer look at those half breeds who invaded the pitch during the Millwall game. I've seen one of them interviewed on TV subsequently, spilling out his pathetic regret because he has kids and feels so ashamed. Not ashamed of what he did of course, ashamed because he was caught! Just like the anonymous posters on here who leave foul comments that have NOTHING to do with the subject matter of the thread.

Well hammersfan you say that but you show me a link where Tottenham fans act toward one another like they do on here. Like most of what I've read of yours on this blog (that aint much admittedly because I can't be bothered) other spammers seem to be incited, encouraged and then put down by you which incites them some more, this blog is like a vicious (vicious being the operative word) self-feeding circle of hatred amongst you spammers with you in the middle orchestrating it like some kind of weird ring master puppeteer. It kind of sums you Wet Spammers quite well. I only came on here to rub it in about the Eidur Gudjohnson hijacking because I thought I'd see plenty of bile spewed Harry Redknapp's way but you are all to busy in-fighting and spewing over each other. Think I'll stick around for a while and see what gives. COME ON YOU LILLYWHITES

Welcome on board Bruce! Me a grand puppet master? That's Duxbury. This blog tries to tell the truth and, with West Ham, the truth hurts! We are adopting Football's Coming Home as our new anthem because of that line, "Thirty Years of Hurt"!

Bruce Grove said...

Tell the truth? Or do you believe your own lies and bs?
Because it doesn't look that way to me spam fan not the truth tellin bit, for example (and this is only one I've seen as I've been having a look this morning, there are plenty more) where is the 'truth' in Wet Spam not being able to afford the rent for the olympic stadium in 30 years time they've no where else to go because they have sold that toilet bowl-yn? Little economical with the 'truth' there eh spam fan? I reckon you just do it to wind them up and they're so thick & gullible being spammers they bite every time & you love it. I've seen some of the replies you get to some of your obvious wind ups, like “Now Duxbury has gone – is there no justice?” typical spammer reply: “Anonymous said...You must be kidding? Duxbury was fcuking useless and an absolute fcuking clown. He cost us £20m for his administrative lies and fcuk-ups in the Tevez affair. I'm glad he's gone, the uselss cnut. 29 January 2010 19:16 No further than the nose is seen methinks

Bruce, I can't take resonsibility for the stupidity of some of the responses can I? I didn't say we couldn't afford the rent, I said what happens when the lease runs out? What if we happened to be in the Championship at the time? If you look back to the beginning of January, you will see an article on Stockport County, written BEFORE G&S took control. Stockport are close to extinction and why? They sold their ground and now have nothing to borrow money against. Lose your stadium and it is like selling the family home and going in to rented accommodation. It is fine for the present but what about the future? Property prices will only going in one direction and I can't see the club ever being able to own its own ground again. A number of Italian clubs went down the same route and it has come back to bite them!

Bruce Grove said...

See that's exactly what I mean about you. Wet spam are not Stockport or an Italian club they have not sold their toilet and there isn't even an Olympic stadium yet but you serve up your predictions as 'fact' well what you call fact and then wind your own spammers up when they don't believe you. 'Ere you aint Duxbury are you?

Bruce Grove said...

Oh by the way I'm still waiting for you to show me that link so you can show me more of your facts in the meantime
