An Open Challenge To Gianfranco Zola

If Zola is such a good guy and such an honourable man, then I challenge him to prove it. His record as a manager at West Ham was dreadful - the first time we have lost six Prem games in a row, the first defeat at Fulham since 66, the first home defeat to Wolves, the lowest number of away victories in a season, the lowest number of victories overall and the club's lowest points total ever achieved in a season in the Prem; and the worst win ratio EVER of any West Ham manager in history! But none of that was enough to provoke him to resign. Yet he is still an honourable man -apparently.

OK Gianfranco, prove it! Sue Sullivan for wrongful dismissal but pledge to give any compensation awarded to the Bobby Moore Cancer Fund. THEN I will respect you. But if you chase the compensation for yourself then it will prove what I always suspected, that you were in it for the money and yourself, not for the club, the players or the fans. Go on Gianfranco, prove me wrong! Prove you are the good guy that your supporters claim.

You blame Zola I blame duxbury as he employed the rookie. No rookie in their right mind would turn down a job like west ham so it is not his fault he wasnt up to the job. HF you will never admit you are wrong its just easier to slag everybody else off a bit like Gordon Brown. Thank god the colaition is here to sort the country out and get rid of the labour twats. Bit like you never wrong. Go get yourself laid man and chill

Hammersfan said...

That does not address the point does it? How do you feel about the proposition, that Zola pledges any compensation to the Bobby moore Cancer Fun?

Anonymous said...

Why shoul he give all his money owed to HIM to a charity. If you were laid off from work would you dnate it all to charity??? Dont be such a mug who in their right mind would do that no matter how wealthy they were. I suggest you take this blog off line and go and support another team as you are a total embarasement. Honestly i feel very sorry for you. Almost nobody agrees with you and its like you are not allowed to support west ham you have to be negative and always slag them off. JUST FUCK OFF HAMMERSFAN GO AWAY AND LEAVE OUR CLUB ALONE YOU DONT REPRESENT THE MAJORITY FANBASE.

Anonymous said...

You honestly dont represent the vast majority of west ham fans. You hide behind morls like dont swear and dont be racist but yu cause hatred because you are a total arsehole who likes to stir up trouble by writing stories from your own shallow views of west ham. Talk about kick a man when hes down. Why do you think so many people love zola but not Roeder or curbs???? He is a decent man

Hammersfan said...

Now that's a very strange response. I support West Ham, not Zola. I support the Bobby Moore Cancer Fund, not Zola. You know, Bobby Moore. That guy who led us to glory in the FA Cup and Cup Winners Cup and who lifted the World Cup for England. You know, that guy who played 645 games for the club. You know, that guy who wore the number 6 with such distinction that the shirt has now been retired. You know, that guy who had cancer in his early twenties and still forged that great career for West ham and England. You know, that guy who died prematurely because of cancer, leaving just £56,000 in his will. Zola was paid £1.9 million pounds for failing last season. Hmmmm. I wonder what would be the decent thing to do if you were a decent guy? Take the money and run according to you 2017!

Next it will be a comment like Im writing to Google to track you down and i hope you get sacked from your job and the police are gonna come round and arrest you as you wrote a naughty word. Honestly as if google or the police give a shit what is written on a 2 bob blog like this. What happened then did google arrest the naughty man for writing a naughty word. Nope didnt think so hardley important to them is it. Pathetic

Anonymous said...

Why should Zola give 2 million pounds to charity. I fucking wouldnt. My dad died of cancer and i still wouldnt give a years wages to any charity as i wanna support my family first like Zola should. Honestly you are an idiot. How much of your yearly ages do you donate to any charity???? What a terrible argment to prove he is a man of honour. He has to give 2 million pounds to charity to prove this. Wanker

Hammersfan said...

No. They instigated monitoring because of the posting of pornography and pornographic links. I moderate out the bad language as best I can. Google are concerned for their image for your information.

Hammersfan said...

Are you a multi millionaire 2026? It wouldn't be a year's wages would it? He won't be working for it will he? If you were sacked because you were shite at your job, would you be paid compensation?

Anonymous said...

enjoying life in the bunker HF? You w★nker.

Hammersfan said...

How did you get that star? Where's that on the keyboard?

Anonymous said...

"the Bobby moore Cancer Fun" that sounds like an odd charity

Anonymous said...

they've got their work cut out

Anonymous said...

If google are concerned for their image how comes you can you search for porn on google then??? More rubbish. So did google press charges ffor someone talking about porn then??? Pathetic we all download porn and pleasure ourselves to it when the wife is out.

Hammersfan said...

What you do with your right hand is entirely your business. I could opt to run an adult content blog. I don't.

2049, well done for spotting a typo and belittling Bobby Moore and a great cause whilst you are about it. Very clever!

You really are one of the most self-righteous Bertie Blunts to grace, nay bore, the Earth.

Hammersfan said...

Why do you read what I write then?

Deane said...

Seems to me and all the lads I go with that you do represent the majority of the fans especially about Zola

Hammersfan said...

Cheers Deane. I must say that there was nobody in the Bobby Moore Lower around me who wanted him to remain as manager. Their ironic idolisation of Spector was one of the highlights for me over the last six games of the season; the trouble is, they were joking, Zola was picking him for real!

Shaun said...

HF... Just read your comments above about the 'ironic idolisation of Spector'? Well it seems that Zola wasn't the only one who would have picked him!? Let me just remind you of YOUR OWN team selection in your 'Team For Today' post for the Man City game:

" My team would be: Green; Spector, Da Costa, Upson, Daprela; Faubert, Noble, Parker, Diamanti; Franco, Cole"

He's only second up on your team sheet mate!! Were you 'avin a Giraffe?!!

I never realized that some of our fans are extremely dumb with the nice guy zola crap. The FACTS seem not to matter, 1 away win who cares, nearly relegated not revelant, all thats important is Zola is NICE. WTF!!!! LOL. You certainly attract the Zola Zombies eh HF? They never counter your opinions on zola, they just throw the nice guy bomb. I believe your views are what the majority of west ham fans think. We are with you HF and want our club to be successful. We want to see the game played the west ham way like the 85/86 season. We want a manager with a backbone and not afraid to give the players a good kick up the backside. I really dont think thats to much to ask for. A message To the Zola Zombies... Worst record of any west ham manager, 1 away win (a record), 6 defeats in a row (a record) Lowest point total of any club to survive relegation (a record), first defeat away to fulham in what 60yrs!!, 80 games in charge...wait for it only 23 wins...Yes a record! Those facts dont seem alarm you. Which means you not hammer fans at all.

Anonymous said...

yes he was poor and had to go. That's not the argument. The point is it's undignified to wallow in it.

Hammersfan said...

Erm, think you will find that I was suggesting Spector be played at RIGHT BACK Shaun because, erm, now why was that, let me see, erm, oh yes, because he is RIGHT FOOTED!

2254, the point is that it is undignified to seek compensation after doing a crap job and undignified to hang on to a job when it is obvious to everybody that you can't do it!

Anonymous said...

ah shadupayaface, he could be seeking the holy grail as far as you know.

Anonymous said...

go with lads then dean eh?

Anonymous said...

fantastic post. in a job if you under perform majorly you get sacked. most of us would'nt get millions in compensation out of it.

Anonymous said...

What do you want a ★ for? So you can write obscenities? Won't be for awarding yourself Brownie points

T W said...

Nice to see with the org down that you are getting a few more hits. As for Zola nice bloke but had to go, by the way who is Sue Sullivan?

Golli said...

You are a deluded fool. You really think that Zola would read such a dreadful blog from an author who cares for nothing but attention?

It's about time you got a grip for **** sake.

LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME, I'VE GOT A HALF SEASON TICKET!!!

FFS get over yourself.

Zola needs “to prove” himself to you? He doesn’t even know that you exist.

H4MM3R said...

I guess it doesn't really matter what each one of us writes...HF aka Nostradamus is always right (in his opinion). Zola was a great guy, it was hist first job as first team coach and he kept us up as he lately promised. Sure, at the beginning our ambition was to qualify for Europa League but you have to deal with the results u get. Additionally there happened so many things at the club which we don't even know...
Nevertheless he definitely had to go. To watch Specs on the left nearly each game was just horrible...so was the fact that Diamante/Stanislas/Behrami had to play on the wrong flanks...game after game after game. When he started at Craven Cottage with the same old shitty line-up although we were already sure to avoid the drop I realised that his strategy won't ever change. I wish him good luck in his future and I'm pretty sure he'll become a excellent manager one day. But presently West Ham needs a new manager and a new start to get the right results in the next season.

epic blog fail. I have never seen a more hated fan blog, keep up the smug dross

Stani Army said...

HF,
He probably gives a lot to charity as it is. Even if he did win his case and give the money to charity, I think he is that kind of man who would not go and tell.

True altruistic charity is when your left hand does not know what your right hand has given.

Anonymous said...

Let go HF let go - he's gone now.... move on, you're like a lover who won't except that it's over. I know you're a one trick pony and you feel you've been robbed - but he's no longer with us. You are a sick and sad man, have a holiday, a rest and come back when you've recuperated and have something interesting to say.

Hammersfan said...

Bloody hell Stani mate, have you had a conversion on the road to Damascus? Are you now a Catholic, bending down and praying before the idolatorous statuette of Saint Gianfranco of Sardinia? You do think the sun shines out of his arse don't you? By the way, you didn't answer my question, name me the players who he improved.

Hammersfan said...

Sorry you have, on another thread.

Hammersfan said...

1648, he isn't gone yet. There is still an unfair dismissal claim pending.

Zola's gone - end of. The big issue is which of the players who supposedly fought their hearts out to save his job and our Premiership status should we keep. Of course, everyone has their price. But the price of our lot isn't going to be that high, given we avoided relegation by the skin of our teeth. We all want to keep Super Scott, natch. But would the news that any other of our "heroes" is on their bike really ruin your summer? If so, who? I'd be sorry to see Mark Noble and Jack Collinson go, and Behrami is a decent player. Other than that - Green, Upson, Cole et al - I can't think of anyone else whose departure would quite match the day I heard Geoff Hurst was going to Stoke.

You are constantly pointing out typos you prat. If you had any respect for Bobby you would've got it right in the first place. FFS you really are an arsehole.

Organ grinder said...

On the excellent westhamfans.org you can reply directly to a particular post, rather than just taking your place in the queue (and often ending up with an unfortunate non sequitur such as some fella I've never met seemingly calling me an arsehole). Don't suppose you know someone at westhamfans.org who could give you a few tips on that, do you Hammersfan?

Hammersfan said...

LOL Organ Grinder, I'll drop an email through to Nev, see what tips he can give me. This is a blog, not a chat forum. Each format has its strengths and weaknesses. WHTID thinks it is a blog but is more of a forum these days. You don't pay your money, you takes your pick. There's room for all of us which is why I carry a link to the Org on here.

Organ grinder said...

Thanks for that, HF. To be honest, I'm a bit of a novice at this interweb stuff. I'm hoping to pick it up as I go along. Is spelling really all that important, for example?

Hammersfan said...

LOL Only if it is consistently poor. Confusing their and there and your and you're, that sort of thing. So, which orgster are you?

TurdsOut said...

persecution complex alert! we're not orgsters - let go - be at peace.... move on... grow and develop - holding on the past because you can't move on in unhealthy..... live in the here and now and look forward to a bright new future - remember HF your glass can be half full - but only if YOU want it to be. Dream the dream - COYI

Hammersfan said...

If what's in the glass is steaming piss, I'd prefer it to be half empty!

Anonymous said...

what a very odd man you are.... that answer certainly needs analysing by a professional.

Hammersfan said...

If you ever come across a cliche, expose its ineptitude! Whether you see a glass as half full or half empty must surely be down to what is in the glass! Blue sky thinking? Well you're buggered if there are rain clouds and you haven't thought to bring an umbrella! It's not rocket science; well given it is rocket engineering, even lego bricks are probably beyond you!

Stani Army said...

No HF, my faith is strictly monotheist...probably the most strict of all in this regard. I cannot worship things or people or even raise them above what they are (just things and people) one iota. That is the ultimate sin. Only God is worthy of worship.

I do know a decent guy when I see one though. I'm not certain what your beef is with us good boys. Missed opportunity perhaps? The urge to go back and change things?

Anonymous said...

HF, you must have also seen dimitri martin to have come up with one of his jokes(half full, half empty)

Hammersfan said...

I knew that Stani, it was very tongue in cheek. The trouble with idolatry is that it creeps up on you. Good job Zola went when he did. Had he turned a corner and actually started to win games, who knows how your worship might have changed? I'm teasing!

I have honestly never heard of Dimitri Martin.

Stani Army said...

Of course ;)

"The trouble with idolatry is that it creeps up on you."

Absolutely, and it has various levels. I mean I'd feel uncomfortable getting the name of a player printed on the back of my West Ham shirt.
