If the Telegraph claim is true, that David Gold is only prepared to pay £40m for West Ham, then you have to say that the guy is taking the piss. £40m? You could recoup that by selling Upson, Green, Parker and Cole. That leaves the rest of the squad plus the ground as "profit". Pocket the Sky parachute payment as we plummet out of the Prem and you would have enough to make a whole season of porn movies with titles like "Emmanuel on Green Street", "Karen Brady Does Upton Park", "Going Down At The Boleyn" and "Claret and Blue Movies".

What a marvelous job Gold has done with Birmingham whilst he's been there.........NOT!!!
I have no great affinity for Birmingham but even I was shocked at the lack of investment, bargain basement wheeling dealing, shabby outfit that they have become and if that wasn't bad enough you then go and sell the club to a shady little character who is probably going to finish the job you started.
So as much as beggars can't be choosers, I'd rather he has nothing hands on, to do with West Ham other than admire us from afar.
He must be fully aware of what it takes to OWN, RUN, and Most Importantly INVEST in a club. These days it takes a Billionaire and he's NOT one of those.
Leave well alone, stair well clear, move along and JOG ON, there's nothing to see here.
We might have a wait on our hands but we don't want another Brown, just someone who is willing to give the club the love and attention it deserves, in return this club can repay the investment and nurturing with success.
