Am I the only one who is happy and looking forward to the new season, the first time that has happened for many seasons.
People should stop knocking Gold and throwing pessimistic conspiracy theories into the equation. We have a decent manager who is attracting decent players and is being backed by the board for his endeavours. Also, if you look at what Gold actually said he doesn't think Parker will stay. He said that as an owner he thought the chances of keeping him were 20\80.
I cant stand our board, i think they are a bunch of useless pricks, the only good thing they have done since arriving is buying Nolan and not because its Nolan (although this was good business), the main reasons this was so good is that it sends out 2 positives
1 - We have money, yes we are relegated and players must go, but they will go for the right prices as we dont HAVE to sell
2 - Its a statement of intent, any of the prem players in 2 minds (like maybe Noble), this kind of signing might just sway them to give us a year.

Got to disagree with the under valuation of PARKER. He is the FWA Footballer of the Year for the 2010–11 season. He has represented England at every level from under-16 to senior.At 30 ,going by last seasons form he is at his peak now,and will no doubt have a good 2 or 3 seasons left in him as his fitness levels are excellent.To say he will be sold on for £4-5 million is a joke,no chairman in their right mind would accept that figure.SULLIVAN and GOLD will certainly hold out for at least £8-10 million.If there are no suitors then WESTHAM win either way.
If we keep him for another season, his value will fall to close to zero and he will cost over £4million in wages. And for what? Scotty Parkers - guys who run around feverishly for 90 minutes - are ten a million in the N Power. We could have an entire squad of them for what we would waste paying Parker.
Depends if his form drops off.There is no reason why he couldn't maintain his peak form for another 2 possibly three seasons,his value would only drop off a little ,proportional to his age,but not significantly.
