Parker Does a Defoe!

Well it didn't take him long did it? Scotty has stopped short of slapping in a transfer request because he has a release clause trigger anyway, and asking to move would no doubt cost him a percentage of the final transfer fee. So instead, Mr West Ham has told the press that the Premier League is where he wants to be and said, "Let's see what happens over the next two months".

Well, what's going to happen over the next two months exactly? Is our relegation going to be rescinded courtesy of a Sullivan bribe to FIFA? Maybe! Maybe Scotty isn't putting himself in the window after all, maybe he is as committed to West Ham as all the Parker fans have claimed. Maybe if my Aunt had bollocks, she'd be my uncle!

Scott's fans will of course trot out the usual guff. "Can't blame the guy...Gave his all to the cause...You can't expect him to drop out of the Premiership when he is in the England squad...I wish Scotty well where-ever he ends up....He is a true West Ham great...He will always be Mr West Ham for me...."

Funny, I remember Brooking  and Bonds staying at the club when we went down and memory tells me that Carrick hung around for a while too. You don't HAVE to leave when your team goes down and, after trousering £80k per week for the past 10 months, you would have thought Parker might feel he owes the club another season. He did get a £20k a week rise to EXTEND his contract after all!

A true Mr West Ham would be rolling up his sleeves now and saying, "I'm leading West Ham back to the Premier League where we belong", not sending out a "Come and get me" message to 'Arry Redknapp!

I think a lot of Parker fans will be disappointed with his comments and rightly so. But they have themselves to blame for turning someone into Mr West Ham when he never considered himself as such.

Later mate...and if you go to any of the top 5, you aint getting games!

Well said HF.I thought it was just me that expected the likes of Parker to help us out till Xmas.

New West Ham manager Sam Allardyce may have walked straight back into another boardroom takeover battle after Malaysian entrepreneur Tony Fernandes claimed he had made an offer to buy the club.

Keep up numb nuts.... don't you read twitter?

I hope Parker goes to a top 5 team. I hope he sits and never plays. If we would have sold him last summer we would be up this summer. The claim "mr hammer" is a joke. Hes nothing close to mr hammer.

your followers are very shallow minded pricks and it shows this site for what it is, immature bollocks.

Shallow minded pricks? Presumably, they don't like going in at the deep end!

At least Parker gave his all when he was playing for us which is a lot more than I can say for any other player last year. I don't blame him for being honest enough to say he wants Premiership football. I am sure that he would have stayed on if the owners and your old favourite Avram Grant did not screw up the season for all of us!

Mr Hammer is offensive, when comparing Parker to the likes of Dicksy, Alvin Martin, Tony Cottee. Parker was an unproductive luxury that we couldnt afford!! Enjoy life with the spuds Scotty!

Time to stop dreaming and get real.

Of course Scotty will go and he should do so with our blessing. It is totally wrong to compare him with Defoe. The club will probably want to sell him to raise money to rebuild in the Championship, just like this blog has been recommending for most of last season.

A strange football day. Blatter being elected unoppossed, a new West Ham manager, and a reported bid by Fernandes.

The coverage here skims over these points, instead choosing to heavily critise Parker's comments (a good day for bad news I suppose),and to infer that there will be mass genocide in East London following the appointment of Big Sam.

I think the Board have got it right, picking the best man available bearing in mind the current problems. Sam said all the right things on Sky Sports. Pity he didn't arrive in January

I'm sure he won't appeal to the purists but the football over the last few seasons has been very poor anyway. The priority is to rebuild a team which is motivated and organised. I hope Sam is given every chance.

People come and go as will Sam if it goes wrong, but the Club will go on and no doubt all true fans will continue to support them.

The bid announced on Twitter? That seems like mischief making on a day when new owners might seem like another answer. S&G don't need the money and are unlikely to sell out when their stock is at a low ebb. No, they will be hoping for Premier league football in the Olympic stadium before they consider that. Hopefully the ticket allocations will be more straight forward than we have seen today.

Joey Barton(Daily Star) and El Hadji Diouf (Daily Mail) on Sam's shopping list.

It just keeps getting better. HF - is that an abbreviation for heart failure?

Like i said before your a plank & you mostly been doing a good job at sounding like one of the jesters running the show down the Boleyn. As long he dont go the Spuds then all the best. Would you wanna play for Big Fat Sam in Championship? Not much like Defoe either. Thanks again tho for the blog...

@Sammers Fan it's so refreshing to have an intelligent and balanced post - unfortunately it's something even the host can't manage.
