Keane for Parker - Just as was planned at the end of the last window!

So now you're going to believe me! I kept saying that Parker was heading for Spurs in the last transfer window but the deal was scuppered by Van der Vaart's price reduction. I predicted some weeks before the window closed that Keane was heading across town with Parker going in the opposite direction, and we discovered, on the final day, that Babel was all set to fly south to join Tottenham in a three way transfer love in. The failure of Parker to sign that contract extension said it all - he wanted out!

Well it looks like the deal has been revived. Expect Cole to join Liverpool, Babel to move to Spurs, Keane to replace Cole and Parker to link up with 'Arry in January. I expect Keane to join us on loan, with 'Arry paying £8m to land his man. Cole will bring another £10m into the Davids' coffers and Behrami's sale will add another £6m to the relegation insurance pot.  Upson is probably on his way out for another £3million.

Who will come in apart from Keane? The Obinna deal may be made permanent for £2.5m and I expect Ben Haim to be signed for a futher million as a replacement for Upson. The priority will then be a left back, an alternative right back and a left midfielder. Don't be surprised to see us bid for Etherington and expect to see Chris Eagles and Danny Fox exchange one Claret & Blue kit for another, with Kranjcar possibly being used as a makeweight in the Parker deal too .

The pack is going to be shuffled and the Parker ace will be sacrificed to make it all possible. Just as I predicted. Is it asset stripping? Sullivan will claim not but the wage bill will be reduced and money will be banked in anticipation of spending a season or two in the Championship.

I hope you are wrong, but as more and more time goes by i am beginning to think your not. It will be a pity to sell Cole and Parker, and it just kills me to see we are going to make a move for another old wash up that little left in the tank. I just dont get the principle behind the matter, and if it is simply because of fear of going under, then why waste all those summer buys? We could have spent money way better than we did. Something tells me, Sully and Gold were hoping for a 11th to 15th position finish in hopes to just stay afloat while they fix the financial problems... Problem is that they both now admit defeat and begin preparing for going under.

It all sounds about right to me.

Benni McCarthy could prove to be quite a hotshot in the fizzy pop.

Blimey, you do not give up do you, HF?
You spent the entire 4 months of the transfer window telling us that Parker was off. We've heard this rumour which has been spread by various lazy hacks and perhaps even the odd agent or even manager for the past 4 transfer windows. It hasn't happened and frankly I doubt it will this time either.
It's all plausible stuff mate. Very well written and well thought through. But essentially it is just Jackanory at this stage. Ah well, no one can accuse you of sitting on the fence!

LOL You watch Headmaster. 'Arry always gets his man and doesn't want Keane at the club after that Irish party business. It's going to happen, not least because the Davids know Parker's value will plummet as soon as we are relegated. How much did Joe Cole go for?

We can't afford his wages in the Championship and they are desperate for Parker to put in a request, so he doesn't get a cut of the fee. You can bet your life Parker has a release clause inserted in his contract anyway. He signed that extension on the afternoon the window closed, 5 minutes after Levy rang Gold to say, "You can keep him, we've just got Van der Vaart for less than you're asking for Parker."

Hilarious. Have you no shame HF?

You relently pushed this issue all summer to no avail and now hope to regain a slither of credibilty by rolling it out again in the desperate hope that you might eventually be right. More likely just another fishing trip so I'll happily humour you...

I can see the logic in your argument but doubt he would be allowed to go until the summer after we've been relegated. Sullivan and Gold's egos are even bigger than yours and after all the publicity they've given about keeping Parker I doubt they'll let him go until the fat lady has sung on our PL status.

His value won't drop either way. With Parker what you see is what you get - 100% commitment. Harry knows that and £8m will be peanuts for Spurs given their recent successes.

I'm sure that Gold and Sullivan know that even without the sale of Parker we can still raise enough funds for a shuffle of the pack through the sales of Behrami, Upson, Faubert, and Kovac. They'll probably bring in anywhere between £10-£15M.

Don't worry, I'm sure you'll eventually get your wish but probably not until the summer.

Hi HF, Its not like 'Arry to bear a grudge is it :) Honestly though do you think that there may be bigger issues with Keane that just one party? do you think he is a Greavesy in disguise? With Defoe out I cannot see why he has not been given a game.

Hi Ricky! Me, have no shame? Ask that of Clarke! Bloody cheat!

Of course I have no shame. But I'm going to be proved right, just you watch!

Hi Swiss, I'm sure there are many issues with Keane. Let's face it, he's had more clubs than Tiger Woods. But we signed Greaves, Dyer, Diamanti, McCarthy, Mido, Bellamy, Bowyer, Davenport, Quashie, Etherington, Sheringham, Neill, Newton, Repka, Hutchison, James, Kanoute, Foxe, Di Canio, Hartson, Charles, Ruddock, Dicks, Bishop & Morley, Dumitrescu, Raducioiu, Boogers, Maddog Allen, Chapman, Keith Robson, Speedie, Mark Ward, McAvennie, Quinn, Fashanu, Beauchamp, Gould...we specialise in misfits, nutters, crooks and weirdos! And some of them actually did a good job for the club!

How about this for a team of oddballs and convicts purchased by the club?

James: Repka, Ruddock, Davenport, Dicks; Ward, Allen, Hutchison, Bellamy; Di Canio and McAvennie

Subs: Sheringham, Greaves, Kanoute, Hartson, Charles, Diamanti, Etherington.

One thing is for sure, they would murder our current team!

'Just you watch!'

That's what you said ALL summer HF and we're all STILL watching.

When he finally leaves or even retires after another few seasons will you still be saying 'I told you so!'.

Joker.

HF, have you purposely picked a half naked slightly arabic (i.e muslim) bird for you piccy, just to wind up Stani? If you have, bravo!!
Stani, where's your moral code lecture on this one!!

Nope, I picked a good looking woman on a poker site to go with the pack being shuffled idea. I'm sure Stanni things she is a contemptible Western slut. And he may be right! Bet it's fun playing cards with her though.
