Great headline in the Newham Recorder - "Dyer vying for place on bench"! Where's the follow up, "Ashton vying for a place in the mortuary"? The article carries some wonderfully enlightening stats! Since his arrival at the club, Dyer, who is on £60k+ a week, has participated in just 15% of the games we have played and has been on the field for less than seven percent of the time during the 98 matches. I am surprised he has managed that much time to be honest!
Incredibly, Dyer has made only 4 starts in the Premiership with a further 8 appearances as a substitute. He has managed to complete the full 90 minutes just twice! And, of course, Dyer has yet to score a goal in a competitive game!
WTF? His latest injury is a "hamstring". Hamstring, the guy is bloody hamstrung! What a terrible, terrible, terrible waste of money! Nice one Turds!

A truly dismal signing in my opinion.
'On his day' he was a good player and could have provided us with pace and a bit more creative vision, but sadly I don't ever see him doing it in Claret & Blue or probably ever.
The double break as Bristol was unfortunate, unlucky even, but the repeated pull ups, lay offs and mystery problems that have occurred since we were told that he had recovered makes him a very expensive failure and a drain on resources.
The fact that Fat Sam upped the price at the last minute and we folded says a great deal for the crazy transfer policy in place under the Eggman.
At least Gabbidon was cheap and played for us (I think...lol).
I was opposed to the signing at the time. The leg break might have been unlucky but was always going to happen - Dyer is just one of those players.
Gabbidon is a different kettle of fish or, rather, was a different kettle of fish. He was Hammer of the Year for one season. What has happened subsequently has put him in the Ashton and Dyer league however. One major injury is fair enough but he is always picking up little ones. There's a Who song on Quadrephenia - "Is it in my head?" Pain is personal, how low is the threshold of Ashton, Dyer and Gabbidon I wonder?
Yeah Dyer has always had the luck of a man who could fall into a bucket of nipples and come out sucking his thumb...
I threw Gabbidon in there because it highlights the vast gulf in ethos.
If we are staying alive by turning a profit from asset stripping it it because of Pardew's and Carr's legacy.
Gabbs may be playing 'Where Is My Mind?' on repeat at the moment but at least he only cost 50p and a packet of Pork Scratchings and at one time was a very effective player for us and as such I hope he returns.
For me Dyer is an expensive myth and my Newcastle supporting mates thank me to this day for getting them shot of him.
