We don't want him at our club. Posters have referred to him as "silly" but that is hardly the right word. To kick an opponent in the testicles is disgusting. To then pretend to be innocent by looking perplexed at the red card simply confirmed his cynicism. Larsson was genuinely hurt by the blow and a kick like that can damage fertility and even lead to testicular cancer.
There is no place in the game for that sort of thing. Obinna is an idiot certainly - as his decision making on the pitch regularly proves - but he is also a very nasty piece of work into the bargain based on this. I have seen some ugly stuff on the pitch down the years and this was right up there in terms of being truly revolting.
The F.A. should slap a violent conduct and disrepute charge on him, the police should prosecute for assault after seeing the television evidence and West Ham should show Obinna the door.
Barton, Bowyer, Obinna - the game would be all the better for purging yobs like these!

Yet again, like Saturday, what a game of two halves, Brian. One can only wonder at the motivational skills deployed in Avram Grant’s half time team talks. Let’s start with the positives.
The first half was one of the best attacking displays by West Ham this season. We played Birmingham off the pitch and they barely threatened the West Ham goal. We could easily have been three up. It wouldn’t have flattered us. There didn’t seem to be a weak link in the team. Even Upson, playing at left back, looked solid. Piquionne looked disinterested at times but sprang into life whenever he got the ball.
The two stars of the first half were Noble and Obinna. Obinna frightened the life out of Birmingham and was at the centre of everything creative we did. He had a fair few shots, not all of which were off target. Mark Noble was playing quite defensively for much of the game, yet he popped up in the box with some regularity. And his goal – lashed in the top right hand corner from an acute angle – was brilliant. We shouldn’t forget Spector’s cross/shot which led to it either.
Right fom the start of the second half Birmingham attacked. Relentlessly. You could almost sense their goal coming. And it did, through a Ridgewell header. And shortly after that Obinna got himself sent off. I’m still not sure what he did, but whatever it was it coud have had severe repercussions. Thankfully, however, Ben Foster came to our rescue and allowed a tepid 18 yard shot from Carton Cole sneak under his body into the net, and that ended the scoring.
My man of the match was Jonathan Spector. He’s really coming into his own in midfield. He was great in attack and rescued us several times at the back. Matk Noble comes a close second, although he faded a little towards the end.
It would have been nice to go to the away leg with a two goal leg but I suspect we’re all counting our blessings that we have any sort of lead.

2047, an interesting take on things thanks. I disagree about Obinna's performance, however. One shot apart, he made wrong decision after wrong decision first half and so much broke down around him.

If you think we should get rid of one of our most creative players coz of wat he did then u really don't care about west ham. Bowyer and barton and obinna lack proffesionalism but they are definately in the right game and their bad decisions get dealt with by officials not the bloody police. OR, it was a instinctive reaction to getting nudged in the back and he just flicked his leg. He wasn't looking so hardly deliberately aimed for his testicles. Also a player that has only had 2 previous yellows and is not associated with the repetitive bad play that would deem someone as dirty. The truth. A totally different picture to the one you have painted.
When times are hard and comments are waning, write something nonsensical and they will come.

It would be interesting if there was any sort of argument between Obinna and Larsson earlier. That could probably explain Obinnas reaction, although it was a terrible and totally unconsidered attack.

He has only played the full 90 minutes on 9 occasions and now has 2 yellows and a red. He is a forward, they are meant to kick him! How many bookings did Lineker get? I remember Hurst got sent off once, playing for Stoke! Cottee? Two yellows and one red, just like Obinna, but in 323 starts!

He didn't apologise because he was not in control of his emotions. He was shocked that he had just got sent off for a silly, instinctive and wrong reaction. It proves he was not as cold and calculated as you have suggested. And how do you know he has not now apologised? Are you one of Larsson's testicles?
And just to clear things up, he caught Larsson on the inside of his thigh, have a look. Caught on the thigh and Larsson grabs his plums! It was not his testicles as you have said, and as Larsson play-acted.
Must agree this was an totally unsporting act and needs more than a match ban. Not sure on a call for the sacking though. I like the way he plays and if certain other strikers played with a bit more effort and flare like Obinna, then we may not be sitting at the bottom of the table. Don't think you could think of many pro players that at some time have't done or pulled a dirty trick or lashed out, well i certainly cant! I think a sacking would be like shooting ourselves in the foot personally. Yours is a good call from an very English sportsman old school view, but times have changed and no other Prem club would do it. Like you, i would like the good old West Ham playing a gentleman's game, but that may be why we haven't won any silverware for a while.
