Upson Confesses Its All Too Much Effort!

Following the five goal defeat at Newcastle, West Ham super captain Matty Upson explained, ""I think we have put a lot of our efforts into our last four games and had some good results so perhaps this was one step too far for us because we were really poor."

His subtext is: "You have to understand that it is very tiring to play all these games over the Christmas period when most people are enjoying a holiday. We felt we had done our bit in cobbling together eight points from four games and considered it unreasonable to expect us to travel all the way to Newcastle for a mid week game. I mean, it's just not right is it? All that way after we had already earned our wages!"

"We beat Wolves on Saturday and felt, enough is enough. It's bloody cold up North you know and the long journey is so boring. Who would be up for a game in such circumstances? So we lost because we couldn't really be arsed basically. Sorry about that but I am the captain and I lead by example and I felt bugger it, this is just too much to ask."
