Well, that's alright then. There I was, predicting a struggle if we didn't win our opening game but it looks as if the squad regarded that as the final warm up game before the season started for real. Or maybe it is the weight of expectation when playing at home that is inhibiting the team. Well, after their 4-1 victory over Hull tonight, we can expect Leeds to give us a searching examination.
Today has to be close to perfect. Four goals scored, a clean sheet, Tomkins, Cole, O'Brien and, amazingly, Parker all off the mark for the season - and we still have Carew and McCartney to come into the team! The only worry is Tomkins who was limping when replaced by Faye.
The division went goal crazy tonight. Who needs the Prem? This promises to be much more fun!

4-0! Play it again Sam! You are beginning to grow on me!
Sam growing on you? There must be an antifungal cream for that mate!
Nice! There is, but it is made of extracts of Avram Grant! I wouldn't like the side effects of that.

it's been obvious for some years what a great competition the championship is. As honest and wide open as pro football gets. It's still early days and the next ten games could still be bumpy as our rival teams, still full of hope and energy, will see us as a scalp. Injuries could still be key to progress.
Don't worry Sav, he's growing on HF too.
Remind us again HF, which game did you say was a must win? :)
apparently he had bad cramp and was taken off for precautionary measures but who knows if he gets injured thats a massive blow as he was by far our best player today
i think the problem with our opening game was.... cardiff, i like the look of what i have seen so far from them, they will 100% be in and around it come the end of the season and with injuries permitting
lovely result. chuffed for Cole and good to see O'Brien scoring aswell as the Clean sheet. 3rd in the league now.
Last time we had 2 consecutive wins away with clean sheets anyone?
We are in the Championship mate, and Watford and Doncaster are currently in the bottom 4 of the division. Perspective needed.
My bad mate, I read your post all wrong..must've been in shock I guess.
We have to keep our feet on the ground, but it really does feel good to win.
Coyi
why is everything saying first time we have had back to back wins for 4 years. i mean for one we had them last season against fulham and wolves and the season before against birmingham and hull
Dave, Leeds is a good side. That will be an interesting game to watch. I think we will win, as I put 3-1 in the pool I am in. But a 4-1 win in any league is impressive. They will be tough.
Don't down play it HF, especially with your reaction to our start to the season. And do you think Grant would have done this? No.
Fred, sure they didn't say back to back away wins? Back to back wins is fine, but away wins are more difficult. Add to that the fact that both were clean sheets too.
LOL But I have Lambert and Lallana too! Mind you Stockdale let in 5 against those guys!
I have a typical West Ham team Stani, good going forward but at the back? Crap!
finally something to cheer about!
but like you say..the real test will come on sunday, against leeds. ever the optimist, im hoping for a victory:D
What a night. 4-0 away from home, 3rd in the league, and an £85 win after god appeared in my laundry basket, slapped me in the face and predicted the result.
Wow! But Stani will say it was Satan. God disapproves of gambling!
True, although it could also have been the effects of the noxious gases released when my laundry basket is opened. Either way it was profitable so no complaints here.
23:38 it's back to back away wins that they're talking about fred old chap - dear oh dear I do worry about you sometimes. Can't you read proper?
