Well all the experts moaned when he wasn't picked against Everton, despite the rumours of the injury, but what have they got to say now? The score is 0-0 because Cole, confidence surging apparently, can't hit a barn door at five paces. Played in by Parker's deflected pass, Cole was given the sort of opportunity most Blue Square League strikers would convert 99 times out of 100, and our "must pick" England man put it five yards wide with only the keeper to beat! And that was that, our one real chance gone for a Burton!
We have looked the better team first 45 but the crossing from the flanks has been poor. Defensively, we have looked OK, except at corners, where we continue to struggle. With more composure, Wolves might have notched two, especially when Cole dawdled in his own six yard box.
How do we win it from here? I suspect Obinna may be the key, coming on for either Stanislas or Sears. But we will then be very vulnerable to a counter attack. Noble was warming up early so expect to see him introduced around the 60 minute mark if we still haven't scored.
This game is winnable and had Cole taken that chance, I would have been very confident going in to the second half. But remember what happened when Cole missed a first half sitter against Bolton?

Well that was the argument HF. Had he not been dropped before he may have carried his confidence into this game and put that away Like his two excellent finishes against Fulham.
Did you see his dummy for the goal? Class :)
...his confidence will be up now. Watch him score
Breaking news!!!!!!!
Sears scores for West Ham!
2-0
What do you think about that Hammersfan?
Our most consistent goal-scorer is a defender from the opposition team! What bad luck were you talking about HF? I hope it continues but it seems it is about the only thing we have going for us in the last few games (or AG's "successful run" as you like to call it).
Sears is fast becoming the first name on the team sheet. Excellent again and deserved a goal for his last 3 performances.
Gabbidon and Kovac were excellent too and your man Ben Haim had a good game too HF even though Wolves were limited down the left.
LOL, through gritted teeth! Ben Haim played a major part in BOTH goals!
They were simple passes HF. Hardly world beating stuff. Anyway, he should concentrate on his defending and we will see when we play a more competent side. I really do have complete faith in Ben Ham proving me correct.
You see, it hurts doesn't it? Simple enough but I didn't see Parker open up the defence with a pass like Ben Haim's - it took him two attampts to release Piquionne. And I don't recall Sears or Stanislas sending over crosses as good as those delivered by Ben Haim and Piquionne. You didn't rate either signing of course!
