We owe it to Fareham Hammer to stay up

I've stolen this from the Org and make no apologies for doing so. Glad you made it through the latest spot of bother mate. With a heart like that, you really should support another team; it aint good for you! West Ham owe it to Fareham and others like him to have a good 2011! Here's what Fareham had to say:

Right Gold &Sullivan time to put your money where your mouth is ,this is NO longer a window of DESPERATION but a window of OPPORTUNITY ! The team & the manager have done their bit, time for you to do yours!,If you DON'T do so & we DO go down, you'll only have yourselves to blame!

Of course I'm a happy Hammer! Delighted for EVERYBODY associated with OUR great club! Gold &Sullivan, the players, Us, the disciples of the Academy of football! Absolutely ESTATIC!

True it wasn't Brazil, there's still a lack of balance & creativity in midfield, and I still think Sears DESPITE his goal is a squad player at best,Stanilas not even that. So lets be DELIGHTED we won but lets not be fooled. Wolves & Fulham are poor ,very poor. I also have a feeling that Blackburn &Blackpool are still going to get dragged into it. But things ARE improving on the field , since Wally Downes has come in the defence looks much more organised, playing as a unit. I still think Robert Green is poor on crosses BUT I no longer feel that when the opposition cross the halfway line they'll score!

I watched Kovac closely today, lets get one thing straight, I fully ACCEPT that he's not the most talented of players, but he worked his socks off, tidying up before giving the ball to the likes of Parker to take forward..Ben Haim is starting to look like the player that no other than Jose Mourinho brought to Chelsea from Bolton.

They say a week is a long time in politics, even LONGER for a West Ham supporter! A week ago I'm lying in hospital & we're 20th! A week later I'm at The Boleyn and we win 2-0! Life doesn't get much better than that SURELY ?

Suddenly the transfer window is NOT one of DESPERATION but one of OPPORTUNITY ! Let's NOT kid ourselves we NEED strenghthening & fast!. If anyone thinks we can rely on the likes of Sears,Hines &Stanilas in the position we are in, dream on ! The QUICKER we get new signings in the better! Despite myself & Brother Enfield being 'disciples' of truth, I DID say that G&S did well in the last transfer window. NONE of the players have been bad signings, the trouble was we COULDN'T get enough in, so poor & unbalanced was our squad. We have NOT had a reasonable understudy to Rob Green since Richard Wright left TWO years ago for God's sake!

I'm NOT expecting G&S to spend £10 million for this player or that player, they never did that & they won't do it now!.The days of monopoly football are long gone! Football clubs are on their knees! When did the likes of Chelsea last spend £30 million on a player? Abramovich simply WON'T do it ANYMORE! They are an ageing team now ready for the taking! Trust me, DONT be SURPRISED if we win at the Bridge this season!

Its all about loans & clubs wanting to get unwanted players off the wage bill. Even if a club has paid £8 million for a player & it doesn't work out, they don't want to pay his wages, off he goes on loan! Or transferred somewhere else EVEN if they DO take a massive loss on what they paid for him, as long as they get him off the wage bill! This type of market suits G&S down to the ground....and they are very good at it!.The signing of Obinna is just one example, a quality player, probably worth £10 million, but after the fiasco of money squandered on the likes of Dyer, Bellamy, Ljunberg costing the club MILLIONS, it was far more sensible to get him on loan first &see if it works out than potentially throw money down the drain!.

They also love to agree to sign a player for six months or a year on loan with a deal on the table to sign the player if satisfied. Of course this DOES limit your options as a lot of clubs won't do buisness like that, but in our financial situation ...it does make sense. What I DON'T want from G&S is the constant spin ,which has started already with15 irons in the fire! Bridge rejects West Ham! West Ham 'agree' wages with Keane but deal stalls because of loan fee! Sidwell deal off due to personal terms! Neither do we need Miz Brady telling her readers the owners need to dip into their own pockets & back the manager! Get the deals done & quick!

A week ago we had a desperate window, now we face a window of OPPORTUNITY! Time to seize the initiative and back the manager! Time to deliver Mr Chairman! Because if you DON'T there's a very good chance we will be relegated &you will only have YOURSELVES to blame! We're more than a football club, we're a way of life! COYI !

Stay well mate. Glad we put a smile back on your face. You deserve it!

LOL Brother Fanno !.Happy New Year to you Sir !.I love reading your blog &i agree with 90% of what you've got to say.Your opinion of Scott Parker a case to point, yes the heartbeat of the team, but his vision is poor as well as his final ball.If we had not won yesterday he would have been a Spurs player by the end of the month. As i have said this is a window of opportunity lets not be fooled we NEED strenghthening &quickly,so no more gimmcks from the 'Messaihs' ,time to deliver !We're more than a football club we're a way of life !COYI !!

I let this one through because it is sooooooo wrong! You are an idiot. Fareham has been very ill. What a shame you are so lacking in basic decency, even to a fellow Hammer. But then Fareham, like me, has probably exposed you as an idiot on the Org. Not that that is hard!

Which goon do you think this is Fareham?
