Is Parker telling porkies?

Scott Parker Soccer player Jamie Redknapp and his wife Louise Redknapp pictured on a night out at the Nobu Berkley restaurant in London. Louise was sporting a see through top showing off her slimming figure after having recently given birth.
Doctor Evil has complained that somebody inside the England set up has told Parker that he has to be playing in the Prem to feature in the international team and Allardyce has taken him at his word. But who says this is true?

Was Parker in the last England squad for the cancelled fixture against Holland? Yes. Was he a Championship player at that stage? Yes. Has Capello picked players in the Championship before? Yes. Has he picked players who are not even getting regular first team football? Yes. So, the facts don't support what Parker is claiming do they?

Who is this unnamed person in the England set up? The bibs and cones man? This all reads like a Daily Mirror story when a "source close to the club" is used to springboard an article. Is Parker perhaps telling porkies? Is he using this as an excuse to engineer a move whilst keeping the Hammers fans sweet?

One thing is for sure, "Mr West Ham, Scotty Parker the Claret and Blue Legend" doesn't want to be at the club a minute longer than he has to be. Contrast that with Brooking and Bonds when they stuck by the club following relegation. In fact, contrast that with Carlton Cole!

West Ham legend? Bloody self serving mercenary more like!

No, look and be aware at what he's done for us. We all want him to stay. He will always be a hammers hero, in the eyes of true claret and blue bloods.

you love that photo

What has he done for us Bilko? Led us to relegation and to the lowest points total of any team avoiding relegation from the Prem. And for that he has earnt a fortune. And now we are down, he wants to quit. So he is a hero because with parker in the team we have been crap. He is the Custer of Upton Park! He is the Captain Dunkirk of the Boleyn! He is the Eddie the Eagle of East London!

Parker will always be a hero to real hammers fans, its sullivan and gold that worry me!
U Irons!

Sums him up nicely 1206, taking direction from a Redknapp!

Bobby Moore wanted to join Tottenham and Derby

Yet again, people see Parker as a Hammers hero, when he was merely doing what he was paid for, as a decent professional. A decent player in a poor 'team'

Sav said...

I don't think being relegated is the fault of Parker. This is an honour that is exclusively down to the Board for persisting with totally incompetent Avram Grant until the bitter end.

I know CF, but he didn't!

Hey,

Get back on the org, will ya? I'm getting sick of arguing with that Wrighty fella. How old is he? Twelve? I need a rest. I'm tagging you. Please climb back into the ring and give Mr Smug a good hiding (figuratively speaking, of course).

My old man said.

Hammersfan said...

LOL I'm sorry mate but as long as it is moderated in such a patently unfair way, I can't be doing with it. I'm afraid Wrighty is a complete arse as his recent spats have shown. I may be deemed "Aggressive" but at least I do it with a touch of panache and I argue my case through to the end. Wrighty is just a bore and as long as Nev humours his type, defends the chosen few and leaps on the Fannos of this world, I'm afraid it will be a bit tedious in there.

So Sav, Grant was to blame for the season before he arrived was he? Parker was the on field "inspiration" that season too remember!

Parker needs to go, the mans overrated, overhyped, and overpaid.

Parker will always be held in high regard by hammers fans - and no amount of your filthy words can ever change that, and by god there's been enough of them. Without being disrespectful to woman - I find you the most bitch like "man" that I've ever come across - it's like you're going through the menopause or the very least have the painters in.

Hammersfan said...

Quite a few more have come around to my point of view actually. And that is before his defection!

JohnH said...

Deluded you are.... none of your waffling has ever bought anyone around to your way of thinking.

If you went to any matches you'd know he was held in very high regard.

Stani can you arrange an on-line vote to settle this once and for all?

"Is Parker a hammers Hero - YES / NO?"

Hammersfan said...

Deluded you are! Firstly this is my blog so Stani could, with respect to him, only organise it if I allowed him to. Secondly, stupid votes are pointless. Ask the question now and it will probably be 70:30 yes he is a hero. Had you asked the question last December it would have been 90:10. Ask the same question if he joins Spurs at a knock down price after demanding a move, and it will be 70:30 the other way!

What is interesting is the way the balance has ALREADY shifted. My position has been 100% consistent on Parker. He is an average to good holding midfielder with limited vision, a poor tackling technique, poor positional discipline and a poor goals to games return. How many goals does he create? Very few. Is he worth £8million? No. Is he worth £83,000 per week? No. Does he want to stay at West Ham? No. Have we been a crap team with parker in the side? Yes. Does his record stand comparison with the likes of Moore, Bonds and Brooking? No way in a million years and it is insulting to the extreme to those three to mention Parker in the same breath!

Stani said...

I think HF knows how good Parker is but is just too caught up in his 'I knew we should have sold him' thing he keeps going on about.

I don't think any other player from our side can say 'I did not deserve to be relegated last season' apart from Parker.

Should we keep him now? In my opinion, no. I think he needs to be sold for financial reasons and for the lingering effect on the team of someone that does not want to be here.

Nevertheless, he was clearly our best player last season.

Sav said...

The question is not Parker. There a million things wrong with West Ham you could pick on and you choose to make a sustained attack against perhaps the only player who gave his all (whatever that is worth) for the team. And you still find cheap excuses about Avram Grant (last one about how his record in the Championship was better than Allardyce's) and so on.

It may be better for West Ham to sell him and use the money to reorganise/strengthen the team. But he deserves a little more respect from you and all West Ham fans. You almost put him in the same category as Ince and Defoe the way you go on about him!

Hammersfan said...

But what you and Stani fail to explain Sav, is why we were just as bad before Grant arrived! Parker remains a consistent link. How good were Charlton when he was in the team? Not very. How good were Newcastle when he was in the team, not very. How good were Chelsea...well he couldn't get in the team! And how good were West Ham with Parker in the team? Crap. I suppose that could all be a coincidence or perhaps it is that the guy gives away too many free kicks, doesn't play defence splitting passes and is crap in front of goal. He plays with his head down and needs three touches to bring the ball under control. His positional sense is poor and his vision is limited. Why have successive England managers looked at him and thought better of it? Why aren't the big clubs interested in him? If Parker was any cop, Ferguson would have bought him by now!

Tin pot dicktator you are....

Interesting development over at the Org. Wrighty just cut and paste my previous post from on here! Check out the thread 'tony fernandes and that QPR thing' for a laugh.

Glad Wrighty did or I wouldn't have come back and so would have missed JohnH's most amusing yoda impressions!

You must be pleased to see Wrighty is still such a fan of yours that he is regularly checking your blog..?

If you're blaming Zola HF then let's use your 'fail to explain' logic and ask why you fail to explain how we finished 9the under Zola in the first season?

Regarding Parker; I've never said he was the best in the world and agreed whenever you mentioned the head down playing style and the lack of a piercing pass, vision and in some cases, touch. Do not forget it was you saying a top 4 club would buy him when I was arguing they wouldn't! But, he was still our best player.

How you can part blame Parker for our plight is crazy. Selling him before relegation was confirmed would have been utter stupidity. It's only after relegation it would have made sense....unless we were giving up the fight to stay up.

not all hammers fan are fooled by Parker hammers hero my ass good player yes but he achieved nothing If anything he owes the club He was nothing when he arrived and got into the England team how this makes him a hero I can't quite figure

The Fella HF is unhinged, mental illness don't you know?

Sav said...

During the same time you mentioned in your most unscientific method for proving that Parker is the problem with West Ham there were probably hundreds, if not thousands, other constants. Gabbidon, Spector, Dyer, Noble and so many others were constants during this period. Why then it is Parker's fault. There are so many "consistent links" as you call it other than Parker during this period.

I know, perhaps shifting the playing area at Upton Park by a few meters may be the real consistent link in our below par performance. The players can't get out of their minds were the pitch used to be! Come on, HF, I know you are a scientist and it is high time you behave like one!

But still, whatever you may argue about his abilities, you have never aknowledged that he gave everything to help the cause. I don't think any other West Ham player tried harder than Scott Parker. This is why genuine West Ham fans respect and appreciate him.

Hammersfan said...

I'm not saying Parker is THE reason why we went down Sav, I'm s aying he is PART of the reason why we went down. Paid too much and not that good. Had we sold him and invested the £8m to £10m wisely, we might have stayed up!

parker wants away sell him the money we get buy the two or three players that help to get us out of this poxy league if not we get on with it him in the side fcuk his england ambitions westham must come first anyone can see hes not happy with us buy players who wanna play for us we all know we need a goal scorer not a player whos been tapped up by that cnut redknapp

Anonymous said...

Is this blog some sort of sick joke? You are right in saying he just done what he was paid for, but few players these days put in as much effort and provide that much consistency as an individual. Nobody has heard him say that he needs Premier League football. It is quite clear the David's want to sell him and it is quite clear it is them trying to create a move. Funny how Harry Harris reports a lot of this crap on ESPN, who is very good friends with Sullivan.
