Well Henri Lansbury may be at West Ham on loan but that hasn't stopped him signing a contract extension at the Arse. So much for all those hopes that we had secured "first option" to buy as part of the loan deal!
This news should make people sit up and think. Whilst it is great to have the likes of Lansbury and Bentley on loan, we don't want them hampering the development and progress of our own young players, in particular Jack Collison.
There appears some doubt as to whether Collison was rested after his exploits for Wales or dropped for the game with Pompey. Two things are certain. One he acquitted himself well against England and served notice that he can hold his own with the big boys. But two, he faces stiff competition if he is going to hold down a regular place at West Ham. And being good enough to play at international level but not good enough to be a regular for West Ham in the Championship is something of an oxymoron!
Collison only recently signed a contract extension himself. It would be a serious poke in his eye if his loyalty played second fiddle to Lansbury's one season break.

Apparently he is needed back for Arsenal's promotion push next season.
sad sad times at west ham sad but funny with fans like tony being morons
I thought it was rather funny myself!
Bloody hilarious - where's your sense of humour 16:44?
And we all know from Parker what contract extensions are worth! It is just as likely that Arse did that to tie up a commodity and thus make the transfer fee higher if a team wants him. The contract per se means nothing.
There is a very simple solution. Drop Noble and play both of them (Lansbury and Collison)! We want to push through our own boys, right, but we also need points to come back to the Premiership. I would go with whatever solution achieves the latter best. I gather Sam thinks the same way too.
Not much point in getting up and coming straight back down Sav - apart from money of course. I'd rather spend three years down building a team than find a quick fix and yoyo back down as a result.
You can build teams in the Prem too HF. Just look at what Pulis has done. Admittedly he's not used youth but it's possible to blood a few in the Prem and build IF they're good enough. And that's the bottom line, if they're good enough. If they are, it won't matter who's on loan.
Agree with Sav. I reckon Collison could do that holding role well.
for once you make sence.so nice not to here the name parker, dam it there i go
HF, I honestly dont believe we are a yo yo in the making. I think we will win the league and be a decemt EPL team thereafter. We simply differ in opinion on the main reason we went down.
Tend to agree with USA Dave on this one. Contracts mean nothing nowadays.
It's all about gaining promotion for us and if Lansbury plays a part in that, all well and good. Next season is next season. There are bound to be more comings and goings before then, methinks.
Latest word on Lansbury . . Arsenal are sponsoring a reprise of the famous "Murder She Wrote" series. It's an ITV2 exclusive and Henri is wanted for the starring role.
First episode is entitled "I didn't see it"
A frenchman living in the UK witnesses a brutal challenge by one of his flock on an innocent person but denies seeing the incident.
It's a mystery for Henri to solve but first he has to work out why the people paying his wages don't actually have first option on his services as originally promised.
The second episode looks good too, but i only know the title "I saw this one - he deliberately set out to injure my player" - this one is in 3 parts!!
4 more episodes in the series but can you name them . . .
USA Dave spot on. They just looking for a larger fee when it comes time to sell, because they know West Ham already rate him after one game.
Right..... And Parker signed a 5 year deal last summer. It means NOTHING! If another team wants him they will simply have to pay more. This is nothing more than a business move by Arse. And a saavy one to be fair.
Thanks, Mike. And HF, something a bit odd. The last comment from anonymous is mine from another site. I dont care, but its like looking into another dimension.
I wonder if I support LA Galaxy there?
