Is "Every Expectation" good enough for Leeds at this late stage?
So GFH have "every expectation" of completing the deal to buy Leeds despite the delayed payment. That's an interesting choice of words.
I turn here to the New York Times, which in June 2005 wrote, "Never before has Labour governed for two full terms, let alone for three with every expectation of a fourth”.
And to a spokesman on behalf of Buckingham Palace who said, "Their Royal Highnesses had every expectation of privacy in the remote house. It is unthinkable that anyone should take such photographs, let alone publish them... The incident is reminiscent of the worst excesses of the press and paparazzi during the life of Diana, Princess of Wales, and all the more upsetting to the Duke and Duchess for being so."
And finally to Shakespeare who wrote, "Expectation is the root of all heartache".
It seems every expectation isn't the same as a guarantee!
