Man Utd at home! Hopefully Ferguson will rotate and Allardyce will take the competition seriously. After the excitement of beating Chelsea and effectively destroying any chance they have of winning the Prem, we can now target frustrating Ferguson's tilt at winning the treble ahead of glorious retirement.
As yesterday's second half showed at the Boleyn, and Reading proved in the late kick off, if you attack the top teams in the Prem, they are vulnerable. Maybe it's the revised off side law or maybe it's just that defenders these days are shit. Who knows? But even with Tomkins playing as an auxiliary defender at Old Trafford, we still created chances. Draft Benayoun and Noble into that team, and who knows, maybe, just maybe we could kick start an epic cup run.
Redknapp, meanwhile, has the opportunity of proving his cup mettle with a home game against West Brom. Who knows, QPR might record their first win over Premiership opposition in that game! And perhaps QPR are destined to follow the Pompey blueprint - appoint Redknapp, win the Cup, get relegated, go bankrupt!
And Leeds have been given a home draw too, against fellow Chumpionship underachievers Birmingham. After their exploits in the Capital One Fan Cup, Leeds may fancy their chances in the real Cup competition!
