Birmingham's Bowyer With Point To Prove
I never wanted the guy at West Ham personally, but given he was on our books and we were paying him a salary, I considered Zola's decision to virtually completely overlook Lee Bowyer utterly perverse. With our midfield barely able to scrape together a goal between them, Bowyer was first ignored and then sent out on loan. It seems amazing that in 2008/09, Bowyer was allowed just five starts before being offloaded, with a further 2 appearances as substitute. Even on that meagre diet of appearances, Bowyer still managed to contribute a goal, albeit against the mighty Macclesfield in the League Cup.
Zola only allowed Bowyer to complete a full 90 minutes once and yet, this season, he has performed an important role for Birmingham, typically contributing some vital goals from midfield. He is bound to be fully charged for the clash at the weekend, desperate to prove Zola wrong for dumping him so unceremoniously.
But with Bowyer, that could be to our advantage of course. Yellow and red cards are always a possibility for Bowyer and, when excited, logic and reason tend to go out of the window as he gets lost not in a red mist but a purple fog. I hope he has an old score to settle with somebody in our midfield. In fact, given their punch up at Newcastle when they were on the same side, it might be worth picking Dyer from the start on the basis that he will break a leg soon anyway, so we might as well get Bowyer sent off early doors in the process!
Perhaps Zola could reveal on the eve of the match that Dyer has Asian parents? That might bring Bruver Bowyer out punching and kicking!

HF, some credit has got to go to Bowyer for sorting himself out.
This guy was better than Scholes at one point, making those late runs into the box and scoring. Strange how both his and the constantly injured Woodgate's careers went on the slide after that racially motivated attack.
Then you have the likes of Deano at the other end, such nice bloke, whose career as been cut short as The Sun are reporting today. Strange world.
And there was me thinking he'd been cleared of 'racial assault'...
Defamation of character there no?
I'd rather see Bowyer in our midfield right now as no one other than Parker seems to be able to tackle, sure his first touch was a foul but at least he had a go at covering the defense.
Bowyer's name was cleared and in my eyes thats enough.
He's having a good year. Good for him.
He's still a mediocre player, which will show as the season moves on i'm sure.
I agree with you Fonzie.
By the way Trev where did you get the photo from, isn't it from the Org's Christmas party?
OJ Simpson was cleared a murder, Clinton did not have sexual relations with that woman, Blair launched the war with Iraq believing Saddam had WOMD which could be used within 36 hours and Duxbury fully expected Dean Ashton to be leading our attack this season which is why we did not feel the need to buy another forward. Oh, and Father Christams really does come down all our chimneys on Christmas Eve.
Fonzie, Hammalot,
You cannot seriously believe that right?

Still climbing up his arse Stani?
Nothing new to say Anonymous?
You're not getting jealous are you?
By the way, where are you when I don't agree with HF?
He's busy trying to climb out of my arse Stani!
Haha!
Anonymous, you know Dale would have banned you for being homophobic by now so appreciate the freedoms you have on this blog!
Dale's sidekick has outlined more plans to restrict freedom of speech! Soon, it will only be allowed to pledge support for the Tories and to endorse Dale in any open primary he can gatecrash!
I did warn him about that psychotic attention seeker but what does he go and do? Gets him to co-write! As awful a judge of character as he is a judge of a footballer.
Like Hitler and Goebbels but much dumber.
