Avram Grant Offered West Ham Job
Rumours are circulating that Avram Grant has been offered the chance to manage a Premiership club next season. Now I wonder what club that might be? Who is looking for a new manager in the Prem at the moment? Liverpool perhaps, but Grant isn't the Liverpool type is he? Anybody else apart from Hull or Burnley?
It all adds up, just as I suggested the other day. Grant can be brought in over both Zola and Clarke in a General Manager / Technical Director role. Gold and Sullivan will probably hope that Zola will walk and Clarke will accept a "promotion" to Chief Coach or some such glorified title for what will remain second in charge. If he doesn't fancy working for his former boss, I doubt the owners would be too upset about saving on his salary too.
Will Grant be universally welcomed by the fans? I doubt it. And with a Jewish owner and a Jewish manager, it might make a certain anti Tottenham chant a little awkward. However, I think he would be a brilliant appointment. His record is superb and the sooner we put an end to the racist chants, the better.
Come On You Give It To Avram Irons!

I think this would be an absolutely fantastic move. As soon as i saw the report that he's been offered a premier league job i have been hoping it's us.
I would hope, if true, it would be universally welcomed by the fans because it damn well should be. I think out of all the managers currently without jobs, he would be the best candidate and i'm sure the Davids will give him an offer sooner or later.
The only bad side is that Pompey are going to "beg" him to stay.
Do you think he'd stay at Pompey? He obviously has Pompey in his heart, but would a Premier League offer be too hard to turn down?
You're right aswell that the racsist chants have to go!
If he can persuade O'Hara, Boateng to join us and bring Belhadj with him then I'd consider it. I also think we have to take a lot of things into consideration before giving him all the credit for his record, especially at Chelsea.
I think he was offered the Hull job though as Dowie was a temporary. Grant is now waiting on Hull to secure their Prem status before he says yes.
Stani...apparently we're going to bid for O'Hara in the summer, so says reports tonight. I'd love Boateng and Belhadj too, just what WHUFC need, proper flair players.
I think what he has done this season speaks for itself really. The way he copes withe the pressure and the media and he got Pompey playing a lovely style of football aswell as working wonders on a team of misfits.
Obviously other matters need to be considered but i'm sure the Davids know all about hiring a decent Premier League Manager.
I do reckon it's Hull aswell. They ain't staying up though and if Grant manages any team in the fizzy pop, it's gonna be Pompey.
I really think it's an option our owners should take up though!
Why would Grant even consider Hull City? No, I reckon it is West Ham.
There's a few good thai massage parlours in Newham too, he'd be crazy not too - HF you've got the address haven't you? you cheeky naughty monkey
At least he wouldn't be bedding the players' wives!
There are a few rumors up here in Glasgow that Walter Smith has been sounded out and would love to take the hammers job. Just the sort of appointment that the Davids would make. He s a bit Dour but a very safe pair of hands and he has prem experience with Everton as well.
There are rumours too that Celtic want Grant. I would much rather have Grant. Walter Smith might bring some Scots down with him and, with all due respect, I can't see that improving the team. That is not a dig, just an honest opinion on the sad state of Scottish footy at the moment.
But there is no guarantee just like Hull and Burnley that we will be a Premier league club next season.
Thanks for that cheery thought TBI. You are right of course which is why nothing has yet been finalised.

What cringeworthy Irony HF. Cheery thoughts? Every fucking artricle you write has a negative undertone, you have never written a single article about anything positive.
You really are a joke and an ebarassment.
Isn't appointing Grant positive?
"And with a Jewish owner and a Jewish manager, it might make a certain anti Tottenham chant a little awkward."
er... didn't stop people singing it when Benayoun was at the club. It's an objectionable chant anyway.
I absolutely agree that it is an objectionable chant and have actively campaigned against it on here. Could West Ham fans hiss to simulate the sound of the gas chambers with Grant as manager? I would hope that he would resign should they do so and the club took no action to identify the culprits and ban them for life. Benayoun was just a player, it would be different with both a co owner and the manager being Jewish. Perhaps the Yiddo taunts would be turned back on us?
It always amazes when West Ham fans do all the anti jewish chants when we play Spurs as there are thousand of jews who support West Ham.The problem with the racists/facists who attach themselves to the club is they are too thick to work it out.
p.s. I am a white atheist Hammers fan for over 40 years.

Spot on pb4u. To a certain extent, the casting of Warren Mitchell as Alf Garnett was an exploration of this.
He was Jewish and it didn't stop him
The point is that Garnett was railing against himself with Mitchell playing the part.
I always find these discussions interesting but only for one reason - do the people who hate Jews even know why they do? Apart from historic rumours is there really something to hate? And on those rumours and perceptions, if true does that warrant hatred???
The real scum are the anti Jews imo.
Antisemitism goes back to the lie that the Jews crucified Christ and said, "Let the blood be upon our heads." When you understand that Jesus was known as Bar-Abbas, because he refered to God as Abbas, you realise how wrong that Bible story is. If the Jews called for the release of Barabbas, they were calling for the release of Jesus. The Romans crucified Jesus but Christian propaganda reinvented the story to stay on the right side of the Roman rulers during the Jewish revolt and subsequent Roman reprisals some 35 years after Jesus died.
