Liverpool Want Behrami

Well, they can have him! I love this assessment of the headless chicken carried on another site:

"The intelligent right sided player can double up as a full back and out and out winger and has also been known to ply his trade in an advanced midfield role and could be available for around £8m and the Anfield boss is looking to supplement the move with funds generated from the sale of Spaniard Albert Riera."

Intelligent? Really! If he is so intelligent, perhaps he can explain why the headless chicken crossed the road, then crossed it again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again...

Double up as a full back? Liverpool saw how good he is at tackling in the box - they should have been awarded a penalty courtesy of a Behrami challenge at Anfield. A full back? He's such a good full back that Spector gets in ahead of him!

An out and out winger? Well, a winger who can't cross the ball into the box!

And as for plying his trade in an advanced midfield role...well how many goals has he scored exactly?

Sell him for £8m? No, we should hold out for £12m! If Benitez is still in charge, they would pay it. Or better still, Yossi plus £5m. Now that would be a deal and a half!

I'm totally in for that! Benayoun would do so much more for us! Behrami was exciting at first...a utility player (right back, right wing, center mid), young, experienced in Europe...but he just runs...and runs...kinda like Boa Morte, but makes a few more passes and scored a few more goals...if we can sell him for 8 million, 10 million, or 5 million + Yossi?! SELL HIM! We can put Stanislas or Faubert on the right instead, if we want Benayoun playing in the middle or something... (I won't be complaining AT ALL about that one)

I would take that offer for sure.BEHRAMI has a high workrate but there are areas of his game that are weak, and I think we can do better.BABEL may be a good swap option or KUYT

Shshsh HF, someone in Liverpool might be reading...or be having it read to them more likely (that's a joke my Merseysiders. After those from the East End, you produce the best naturally gifted footballers). You mustn't take a leaf out of Sullivan's book HF or no one will buy our overrated players.

Thing with Valon is that he needs 3 class midfielders around him that can pass, shoot, get into the box, and grab the odd goal. We can't do that for him.

I'd even take money and the youngster Spearing. He's a midget but creative.

I'll take Behrami's missus.

I'd gift wrap him for 10 mill but previous correspondent is right; the classier the players around him, the better he'll become and we do not have the squad , nor are we likely to in the immediate future, to get the best out of him. Perhaps all he needs is a coach who understands about playing in midfield because Zola doesn't. Quite like him as a character though. While I'm on anyone else knocked out by Inter's disciplined .. and fairly simple - defending last night .. two rigid lines.. stood off the perfect distance to make it impossible for messi and co to beat their man with one touch but close enough to react to anything the ball holder did..it was like watching Fulham!

Never mind Behrami, comments on Liverpool fans blog are biting at the bit to praise Diamanti and are tripping over each other to extoll his virtures in addition to pleading for his purchase!

One quote is "Warren Bloggs - April 28th, 2010 at 2:41 pm

Retryboy sorry for the late reply, Alessandro Diamanti is a forward, who can can play on the left-wing, attacking midfiled, second striker, and solo striker. I think he would be a great asset to the club as he could do a job in the starting eleven and especially on the bench, i just think we need a kind of impact player such as Diamanti to give us another dimension with our substitues, hell i think he would be good enough to be in are starting line-up" What is going on? why is our "great asset" not loved by management as much as he is by Liverpool fans?

Perhaps because Liverpool fans don't know what they are talking about? Diamanti or Yossi? I know which one I would rather have!
