Curbishley Definitely Waiting In The Wings!
Is that a brown Volvo towing a caravan that I can see parked in the Barking Road? Is Upson practising his "lump" in secret training sessions after Zola has gone home? Are knackered has beens the length and breadth of the country preparing to sign for West Ham in the summer? Can Joey Barton suddenly see a way of reviving his career?
Just look at the statement on the OS about the settlement with Turds. Please note the way he is referred to as "Alan" by Diddy David and not as Mr Curbishley or another name beginning with the letter c! Please note the way Sullivan distances himself from the previous regime. Please note the way a reduced settlement figure has been agreed.
But most worrying of all is the final paragraph:
"We are slowly but surely getting ourselves back on an even keel and there are many reasons to be positive for the rest of the season and beyond. I wish Alan all the best and I am sure he will be given a warm welcome WHEN HE RETURNS TO THE BOLEYN GROUND"!
Shit! "Is it a snore? Is it a yawn? No, it is the man of our dreams! Literally! Alan Turds Curbishley!"
Never mind "To infinity and beyond", prepare yourself for "The Upson lump and beyond!"; Curbishley is coming home. Which means football is moving out of Upton Park even quicker than the Olympic Stadium plan would allow!

I don't think you thought I was serious when I suggested this a couple of weeks ago. But if you want to stabilise the club in mid table, who you gonna' call.
G&S and Curbs looks to me like a match made in ........Birmingham?
LOL Marty. I saw your logic, I half believed you, but everything inside me was screaming "Noooooooooooooooooo!"
Still, it will work wonders for this blog! I've lost Curbishley, I've lost Duxbury...but Sullivan, Gold and Curbishley? Just give me Joey Barton as well and I will write essays every day!
There are those who might essay that you already do!
Indeed. And those who wish I would essay off!
Yes, hasn't this 1.6 mill deal been cordial. Sure, the courts made their decision but that amount of money for pruning the roses is not insignificant & yet everyone seems to be happy about it. On some Spurs blogs some are saying that Cole in summer is a done deal. Of course, could be a wind up, but we are looking at loans & bargain players because of funds. I didn't believe this at first, but now that you have mentioned it, i just get this nagging feeling, & it won't go away.
Sorry can i please ask a question? people complained and called for curbs head because of the poor football we were playing but i am a season tkt holder and have been for 25years and i can safley say the football we are playing at the moment is the worsed i have ever seen.It is shocking the blackburn game the other week was a nightmare,i couldnt see the great football that mr zola was brought in to play!an 18 year old up front on his own against blackburn at home i think takes the title of being the most negative i have ever seen.So when you all shout out for the next managers head maybe think about it a little bit more!
No way, Curbishley won't be coming back to Upton Park. Sullivan was assuming he will get the managers job with another PL club and hopes that when he returns to the ground with that club as manager he will get a warm welcome, nothing more nothing less. Lets face it they want to be progressive, and remember they are not too happy about the players he signed.
Waiting in the wings? More a case of reading too much between the lines.
1440, I hear what you are saying and I have been very critical of Zola's tactics. Yes, he favours a short passing game, but his insistence on playing through the middle and of overloading the midfield is typical Italain and is not the West Ham way. Curbishley, however, favoured a style of play that was totally alien to West Ham, a hoof it upfield and chase approach that was more Wimbledon than West Ham. I was very glad to see the back of him and would hate to see him return. If Zola sees sense and opens up the flanks as attacking options, we will see a style of football that you and I are much more accustomed to, the football favoured by Greenwood, Lyall, Bonds, Redknapp, Roeder, Brooking and Pardew.
We can beat Hull, it will be hard but we will do it.
I bloody hope so!
17:42 What a sad indictment of the times at WHU when we are worried about the visitors being Hull. Curbishley was not the man for the job, but regarding GZ, I am starting to feel like Caligula in the Coloseum in Rome, with every muscle in my forearm trying to keep my thumb at least upwards enough to stay parallel...... Morinho wants to come back to the Prem asap . . . . . Come on Jedward . . . er Davids . . . . make him an offer he can't refuse - or are we already too fed up with "Chelsea old boys"!
Why not write your esse in Miami?
