Being French, Faubert has probably shrugged it off as inconsequential anyway ("What do zee Engerlish know anyway?") but I have to say that the selection of Diamanti as the man of the match on Saturday was wrong. Yes the Italian was very impressive, showing the virtue of playing a left footer wide on the left of midfield: yes he was gorgeously beautiful on the ball; and yes he teased Fagan into getting sent off; and yes he nearly scored with that delicious free kick in the second minute (won when Faubert was fouled as he skipped past the Hull full back); and yes he sent over that wonderful cross for Behrami's header, which bought a brilliant save from Myhill; and yes he tried that wonderful shot from inside his own half. But did he actually contribute to any of the goals? Answer non.
Faubert, on the other hand, played the pass of the season to set up Cole's goal, fired home a superb effort himself, looked as safe as maisons at the back and, a few overhit passes apart, was impressive all game.

I totally agree. Diamanti man of the match against Brum? Sure. However, the 3-0 win at Hull was all about Faubert. He scored, created another, and kept a clean shit. That just says it all!

Tres funny Hammersfan, you make me laugh again. "zee Engerlish" Yes, credit where credit is due, you are correct. Diamanti contributed much, as others did. Parker risks life & limb every tackle, but the really noticeable performance was from Faubert. Yes, homme of the match from what i saw too. We fought the French for hundreds of years & the Normans came over & gave old Harold II an arrow in the eyeball, but i got over that a while ago. We lost a lot fellas in two world wars fighting alongside the french so it's nice to see a frenchman giving something back to zee Engerlish.

By the way, he's getting rinsed on his blog by his own cronies for criticising Kovac's Hull performance for no reason. Everyone's disagreeing with him! I say he did it for no reason but there was a reason of course; Mark Noble. Iain will go to the ends of the earth to see him in the team.

Do not understand how Faubert wasn't Man of the Match personally, his second perfect through ball to Cole of the season was delightful to watch. I enjoyed the banter with Rob Green, good to see he has a sense of humour.

I can't constructively criticise Noble on his site because I'll only get banned. Noble was brought up because he didn't start the last two games and we won both of them. Our first back-to-back. A perfectly reasonable reason to bring him up.
Yes Peppa Pig, i do have the British sense of humour. My family all have the Alf Garnett sense of humour. However, it's Hammerfans blog & he has the license on comedy here. I only ever get to watch the games on the devils eyeball as i live out in the sticks, in the land of plenty, where beer does flow & men chunder. If i get back to the motherland i would find HF. Yeah, Dale does go on tad about Noble sometimes, not that i really read there. Look, it may not be the opinion of the management here, but in my opinion Zola is sticking with Kovacs so it's his business. He must be doing that for a reason. Kovacs is very experienced. Remember, 18 months ago some were screaming for Coles head on a platter. Now look. I recall that Ranieri said that Cole was the best young player he ever saw. Ranieri was no fool. 12 months ago, or less, some were calling for Faubert to be shipped back to the French Riviera. Now look. He knew we needed him at RB & he gets better every game. I mean, what do people want? Noble is good player & a Canning Town boy, but he is inconsistent. He can go out in an important game & put in a dog of a game. Kovacs has done nothing special like, but he continues to improve, so it's six of one, half dozen of the other. Sometimes it takes players time, Noble has had plenty of that.
Fanno: Canning town is in the East of London, i.e. near the ground - it's where a lot of the hardcore supports have come over the years, including the ICF. Locals have been known to eat pie, mash and jellied eels - some even venture further afield to eat bagels from Brick Lane bakery (again in the East of Londinium).

I think your last point is the most important. Got nothing against Noble but he has had a lot of time and his progress has stagnated.
I think if Zola gives Stanislas the opportunities he gave Noble, then Stanislas will be a real hit.

You will be telling me about the old Trebor factory at the bottom of Chester Road next, and about Plashet Park. Any idea where Katherine Road is whilst you are about it or St Mary's Road? Hang on, do you know where Ronan Point was? I have this really weird dream where my Aunt Jean lives in the block of flats in front of it. Strange, in this dream I am staying in her flat the week after the explosion and I can see into people's living rooms up on the higher floors. In this dream my grandparents live in St Mary's Road before their house is compulsory purchased and they are moved into a tower block on Katherine Road. Odd, my Nan is mugged by two West Indians coming out of the Post Office 200yrds away from the flat and my grandfather witnesses it from the balcony of his flat (where he had a potted sunflower and a goldfish bowl); my Nan leaves hospital but never really recovers and dies six months later. And in this dream I live in Chester Road and get a bag of reject sweets from the Trebor factory every Friday from a neighbour. And I go and see the guinea pigs, rabbits and peacocks in Plashet Park. Bloody hell, that dream is so vivid it is almost as if I lived it! Amazing! Canning Town in East London, bloody amazing!
