Here Comes Petrov?

So, the Official Site is now running teasers! We are going to sign a player in the next 24 hours. He is a proven international with over 60 caps. Well Petrov has got over 70 caps and is available on a Bosman. My guess is that he's the man!

Unless 'Arry reads the OS and nips in at the last moment!

Yep, last day of the season, along with the rest of the Man City squad!

Is he not just slightly less injury prone than dyer(bolical)?

Tal Ben Haim?

Dear Lord no. I hope it's Petrov

Hammersfan said...

They wouldn't tease that one Stani. In fact they wouldn't announce it full stop!

if it is pterov it is a step in the right direction for sure. he is class and loves playing at upton park from what i remember, always seems to skin us single handedly

Sullivan would tease anything HF.

Not announce it and do their fellow Israeli such a disservice?

Odds on Ben Haim and Ben Sahar being at West Ham before the start of the season?

Didn't Ben Haim slaughter Avram when he was at chelsea? saying if he had known Avram was gonna be manager he would never have signed for them...

Adriano, Ruud or Henry?!!

Thomas Hitzlsperger according to Kumb

Also on Skysports:

West Ham United's new manager Avram Grant has made his first signing after bringing in Thomas Hitzlsperger on a three-year contract

Not the first great signing we are all looking for!!

according to Sky Sports, too...
Mhh...I don't know if I like it.
Didn't follow Serie A and Bundesliga too often in the past years.

looks like another bench warmer:

The 28 year old started his career in 2001 with Aston Villa, playing 99 games, scoring 8 goals. In 2005 he moved to VFB Stuttgart, playing 125 games, scoring 20 goals. He played a leading part in their championship winning season and in 2008 became captain. In December 2009 he fell out with Stuttgart manager Marcus Babbel and was loaned out to Lazio for whom he played only 4 times for Lazio, scoring one goal. He’s played 51 times for Germany, scoring 6 goals. He didn’t make the German World Cup squad!

Bench warmer? 50 caps for Germany? Bench warmer? Bloody hell, we have got high expectations these days! I reckon this is an exciting signing personally. He has a better strike rate at international level than Emile!

Pete said...

I refer to the fact that Kovac too won over 25/30 caps and warmed the bench for the first half of last season.

Makes you think with Hitzlsperger only playing 4 games for Lazio that they came 12th in serie A and he couldn't break into the team.

I would prefer Petrov (if he can stay fit), so fingers crossed your headline comes true!.

I agree better strike rate then Heskey but thats not too difficult!

Crap guess HF, Hitzlberger has great energy can tackle well and is a left footer!!!

Hammersfan said...

So a midfield 5 of Petrov, Hitzlsperger, Parker, Diamanti and Behrami?

Pete said...

But can we keep hold of Parker, Diamanti and Behrami?? The three of them will see us collect around £24m.

I see Hitzlsperger as a replacement for Diamanti which would be a huge shame but obviously he is not favored by some

I personally think it's a step in the right direction. It shows ambition and could turn out to be a really shrewd signing...for an 'undisclosed fee'!

Petrov? No thanks! I'm not doubting the guy's ability, but the fact is, he's injury prone! We need to hit the ground running next season with all players, new and current, 100% fit! C O Y I !

Just as you failed to predict! Let's see how many times I get to post this over the summer.....

Keep looking in mate. Why have you changed your name to Factory? Got a job at last?
