The Great Sullivan & Gold Season Ticket Swindle?
I've signed in to News Now today hoping to read that both Barerra and Remy have successfully touched down in the East End but, like the BP oil cap, there seems to be a lot of talk about what may have happened and no actual evidence that it actually has. Rumours suggested that we would announce Remy's signing today, whilst the Barerra deal was supposedly done and dusted apart from the granting (pun intended) of a work permit. But so far today, nothing, nada, rien.
Is this highly cynical, or would it be reasonable to ask how many season tickets have been sold over the last week since these rumours first broke? Chuck in Joe Cole and the Brazilian wonder kid, and Sullivan and Gold would have us believe that we will be watching a team of superstars next season. Roll up, roll up, get your season ticket now!
I just wonder, when the full compliment are sold, will the rumours suddenly stop and will we find we have a squad very similar to the one we had last season, minus Scott Parker?
That couldn't happen, could it?

take it easy mate.have a lie down.dont get yourself so worked up.if you dont want to go to matches dont go.do you see conspiracies eveywhere? secret plans and schemes? did you invest £50 million? took on £100million in debts? do you have a magic money wand? get real live in the now where it easier to function.stop hankering for utopia.the owners are west ham fans i dont remember people bursting west hams door down to take over control. did you make an application to take over?
Anyone that buys a season ticket based on who we may sign is a bit of a spanner.
Calm down, it's only a question!
but if you have already got a season ticket and your not happy. you can always take it back and get your money back.
Can you?
I'm hearing rumours of this and that buying him and selling her, but this is no different to any other close season in the whirlwind life of a West Ham fan. Nothing to get too carried away about, until Parker is sold and then the co-owners will have some questions to answer.
Well, I think this is the first time we agree!
The other thought I'd like to chuck into the pot is the old "parker is not for sale" (pre season ticket renewal)
And then after the renewal date, "parker may be for sale"
It reeks.
Process has got some thoughts on it here, and some on potatoes. Tedious link, but it works: http://westhamprocess.footballunited.com/2010/07/12/parker-is-just-a-potato-to-sugo/
You buy a season ticket becuase you are a fan, not because of the possibility of new signings. Like marriage, it's through thick and thin, good times and bad times.
Are you buying a season ticket hammersfan then?? I have been a season ticket holder for 32 years and always will be as long as i can afford it. Most fans dont just buy a ticket on who we buy they buy a season ticket as they are real dedicated fans.
It does subconsciously influence people though Dave.
But not everyone's marriage is the same Hugh.
If we were really in for the big players, I doubt we'd be linked with the likes of Piquionne, which is what has happened.
owners David Sullivan and David Gold plus vice-chairman Karren Brady were in the South of France today attempting to sign Nice striker Loic Remy for £12million.
The Upton Park hierarchy remain hopeful of finalising the deal but they will need to sell players to balance the books should Remy agree to join the club.
West Ham have already had an £11.5m bid for Remy rejected and would need a further cash injection to help finance another offer.
Co-owner Sullivan, who revealed at the end of last season that he was willing to listen to offers for every West Ham player with the exception of midfielder Scott Parker, is keen to strengthen the playing strength of a squad that only narrowly avoided relegation last season.
He is also desperate to reduce the club's debt, which he confirmed was around £110m when he and Gold took over in east London last January.
The pair are keen to shake up the playing squad under new manager Avram Grant, with as many as six players expected to leave before the new season kicks off on 14 August.
The transfer market remains fairly quiet but it's sure to hot up as the countdown to the new season continues.
Among the West Ham players facing uncertain futures are England striker Carlton Cole and former Under-21 international Mark Noble, both of whom have been linked with a move to Stoke, while goalkeeper Robert Green is being tracked by German side Schalke.
Matthew Upson, meanwhile, has yet to agree an extension to his current deal which expires at the end of the 2010-11 season.
Two other players who could move on are Switzerland international Valon Behrami and Alessandro Diamanti.
Even Parker, who was West Ham's outstanding player last season, could be vulnerable should one of the top-five clubs decide to make an attractive offer.
Grant's priority remains up front, where Cole and Benni McCarthy are the only two top-level strikers at the club following the release of Guillermo Franco.
One imminent arrival is Mexico winger Pablo Barrera. He was due in London today ahead of a £4m move from UNAM Pumas providing his work permit appeal, scheduled for tomorrow, is successful.
There you go prick looks like he is signing. Go get your season ticket now
After Howard Webb's ineffable contribution to consumerism, news is coming out of the Long Room that the Lord's test match will be contributing to the new conservative feel good factor. Indeed cricket in the guise of WG was a pioneer in ensuring that the paying public got value for money and a small matter such as the rules of the game should not be allowed to interfere with customer satisfaction. To this effect, any team taking more than two wickets in any one session will be expected to bowl underarm for the remainder of that session. In a show of sporting unity, the Royal and Ancient have decreed that any player establishing a three stroke lead will be expected to play the following hole blindfold.
Good on you 1602, that's all the way back to 1978, Brooking, Bonds, Paddon and co. I was in Somerset all those years ago and only got up for 5 or 6 games a season. Whether or not we get season tickets depends on my son's work commitments (looking for weekend work) and my holiday plans. If he isn't working and I can get to enough games, then yes.
You'd have to be completely stupid to purchase a season ticket based on who West Ham may sign and I refuse to believe that anyone would do that.
I purchase my season ticket every year regardless who we sell or sign. I'll still be there, hopefully, while all the mercenary players come and go.
You'd have to be really stupid to buy a car on the back of a TV advert or a holiday on the back of a holiday brochure, but people obviously do!
I guess we've been conned so many times by all the chairmen that we now expect it automatically.
Me? I'm giving SuGo the benefit of the doubt and fully expect new signings and the exit of some of the existing players. Maybe even Parker.
Frankly I don't really care as long as we put in some good performances and under Grant I have every confidence we will unlike last season.
Twat - This place should be renamed the fans gone crazy. I suppose this is what you end up with when Spurs fans run a website pretending to be Claret & Blue.
Is themanfromdelmonte on the Org a Spurs fan? I've just seen that he has floated a similar idea! These Spurs fans, they are everywhere, even part of the inner sanctum of westhamfans.org.
The OS says they're gonna announce something in the next 72hours.
a number of new exciting players will be signed within the next 72 hours. its on the official whufc website. cant wait to find out who they are. gotta be barrera and remy i would of fault. but who else i wonder. maybe joe cole. from wayne the happy hammer.
a season ticket is your commitment and passion to the club, it is rarely bought, if ever on a whim after listening to a believing newspaper and agent's gossip. These are fans we could do without as they have absolutely no knowledge of the game. Wouldn't you say fanny?
Sullivan & Gold's motto is simply "Show us the money".
Right i have been a west ham fan for about 5 yrs and i could only afford to start going to games last season i went to many away games and every game we lost but i held my head high ! i'm only a member coz im a shift worker but i will try to go to as many games as i can and god for bid we went down i'll still be going from now till the day i'm dead COYI !!!!!!!!!
another truly negative post from HF - I have to say it's getting a bit tedious now. 25 comment and only one person who agrees with you! thefanhasgonecrazy!
2039 so you still visit the org then - is it where you get your ideas from? I thought you were banned? and why do you go back there?
I have to say it is where he get a lot of his ideas from..... I've noticed that before.
Of course I look in, I still contribute to the Org on a regular basis. See if you can spot me.
As for getting my ideas from the Org, where you see duplication, you may identify Fanno. Mind you, the Org is so positive in its views and support of the club, it would be odd if somebody as negative as myself had too much in common with Happy Clapping Klannish Support eh?
Why do you still contribute? that's just weird - you get banned, set up you're own blog but still go back - says a real lot about you.... you sound very needy to me
Do you think so? You hate this site but you keep coming back. Why? You seem very needy to me.
