The Great Sullivan & Gold Season Ticket Swindle?
I've signed in to News Now today hoping to read that both Barerra and Remy have successfully touched down in the East End but, like the BP oil cap, there seems to be a lot of talk about what may have happened and no actual evidence that it actually has. Rumours suggested that we would announce Remy's signing today, whilst the Barerra deal was supposedly done and dusted apart from the granting (pun intended) of a work permit. But so far today, nothing, nada, rien.
Is this highly cynical, or would it be reasonable to ask how many season tickets have been sold over the last week since these rumours first broke? Chuck in Joe Cole and the Brazilian wonder kid, and Sullivan and Gold would have us believe that we will be watching a team of superstars next season. Roll up, roll up, get your season ticket now!
I just wonder, when the full compliment are sold, will the rumours suddenly stop and will we find we have a squad very similar to the one we had last season, minus Scott Parker?
That couldn't happen, could it?
