Tweedledee, Tweedledum and Tweedledummer all start against Barnsley!

Carew, Cole and Piquionne all start as Sam brings out the battering ram and says fuck to subtlety. The midfield looks hopelessly light to me. Diop, Noble and Nolan are not going to offer a lot in terms of creativity are they?

Presumably Diop is going to anchor in front of Tomkins and Faye, and Faubert and McCartney are going to be encouraged to get up the flanks to bang in crosses for the Land of the Giants forward line?

It's a depressing looking team selection. Sears is on the bench. So is Lansbury. And so too is Montenegro. Anyone of those three in place of Piquionne or Carew would have offered more balance to the team.

Barnsley will fancy themselves to control midfield and hit us on the break. I suspect that to win, we will need to score three goals, and I fear that there is not enough invention in the team to score two.

Hope to God I am wrong!

Team:

Green

Faubert, Tomkins, Faye, McCartney

Diop

Noble Nolan Piquionne

Cole, Carew

And Tweedledumdiop scored!

Anyone got a link to online radio coverage? BBC London Digital doesn't seem to be broadcasting.

Hope you are wrong too HF, but I am afraid you are not. Just when you thought that our midfield couldn't get any worse... We have a huge gap in the middle and three (mostly non-moving) towers up front! We will need more than good luck. Moreover, to have any chance at all we have to do it the old Allardyce direct ball way.

Was I? I quote, "I fear that there is not enough invention in the team to score two."

Outweighed by 'I suspect that to win, we will need to score three goals'

Balanced out by, I would say. The thing is, we scored early. Had we failed to do so, a different game would have unfolded and I would probably have been spot on. It was Diop's first goal for 6 years so I think it is safe to describe our early lead as flukey !
