So Sheffield United, Evans or Tevez, who is the greater villain?

After all the fuss they made over our selection of Carlos Tevez, how ironic is it that Shafting United (and never has that name seemed more appropriate) are riding the crest of a promotion wave courtesy of 35 goals from a convicted rapist. Given Evans had sex with the drunken girl with the approval of former team mate McDonald, it gives a whole new meaning to Third Party Agreements doesn't it?

Now I'm not sure about you, but I don't think it is appropriate that Evans has been selected between his arrest and committal. I know you are innocent until proven guilty, but is it right that families have been cheering and applauding a guy who has raped a teenager? He has brought the game into disrepute in the most disgraceful way and I am sure there are many who feel offended that they have unwittingly paid to watch this pervert play football, and put money into his bank account as a result.

Perhaps rival clubs in the First Division should club together and sue Shafting United, campaigning for points to be deducted for playing a rapist in breach of the Football League's code of conduct. The club have surely acted selfishly and with a blatant disregard for the good of the game. Yes they will fall back on legal technicalities but I'm sure Justice Taylor would conclude Ched Evans is entirely responsible for Shafting United's current league position: take away his thirty five goals and where would they be exactly?

Mind you, it makes you wonder what Pants Down Pardew knew when in March 2009, he seemed to say on Match of the Day 2 that Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien had "absolutely raped" the then Manchester City player Ched Evans during a midfield tussle for the ball. What goes around comes around as they say.

Your just a tosser arnt you? Get over the tevez thıng. Evans got what he deserves for doıng what he dıd, but surely the fact lee hughes ıs stıll playıng shows football clubs have no morals ıf someone can score goals for them

Are you a moron? Wh picked and benefited from having a player they had no right in selecting.

Sheffield United selected a player who was available under the laws of the country until today. He had every right to play football for Sheffield United until today.

Tevez had no right to play for West Ham at all.

If you can't see that. God help you.

Actually I think you are the moron. Tevez broke no laws; Evans has. If you can't understand why it is morally repugnant to continue to play a player charged with RAPING a teenager in a FAMILY sport then I despair. How do you think the girl felt seeing Evans smiling on TV after he "scored"? How do you think she felt when women and children cheered him? How do you think she felt when she read headlines like "Evans the Hero"? Sheffield United showed a complete lack of class in picking him in the circumstances, proving that the club is devoid of moral fibre. How DARE you compare raping a woman with a technicality on a contract? I know you live up North and may still bring a club home from the pub, but down south we no longer have Viking morals!

Hammersfan said...

Mind you, to be fair to Evans, he didn't refuse to come on as a sub!

But Tevez has the right to play for Man Utd and City and Macherano can play for Liverpool?

Paddys said...

West Ham never signed Tevez from a club or unattached, signed him in a illegal way.

You'll have to live with that pal.

Sheff Utd are 10 times the club West Ham are

No vıkıng morals down south? Just cause rıots and burn old buıldıngs down there dont we. You cant compare the tevez case to evans, tevez dıdnt do anythıng wrong ıt was west ham. Employers cant sack someone untıl they have been proven guılty so realy sheffıeld just played hım as no one else wanted hım. Look at marlon kıng, lee hughes, stan collymore, gary madıne and many more! Some footballers just seem to thınk they can get away wıth anythıng, but ıf they get clubs success people seem to forget what they have done.

Dirty horrible Blades sued a club for not having papers in order

Idiot. The conviction was just given based on the opinion of 12 jurors who could quite easily have found him not guilty. So what then? Sheff Utd have refused to play an innocent man? There you go, your argument is flawed you inbred cockney imbecile.

Booby Moore started the rot when he nicked that bracelet back in 1970... he should`ve been banged up & left to rot there & then.

Ah yes, but he was a darling west hammer wasn`t he?.. sorry, but you shouldn`t taint your views because of the team a man plays for like the above poor & vitriol ridden article. Shamefully ignorant.

Anonymous :19:55 and 20 :22.I am stunned that you can even attempt too compare a vile criminal act, committed by scum ,deemed fit enough to represent Sheffield United football.Too the biggest illegal heist in footballing history.Master minded by the selective pursuer of moral justice ,football's ultimate prostitute Kevin McCabe.Get over it ?!.You must be joking !The reason why you got relegated was nothing to do with West Ham and Tevez. There were two major reasons why Sheffield United got relegated. The first was because your leading scorer Rob Hulse broke his leg,the second was because McGreedy wouldn't give Warnock any money to spend in the January transfer window !You know it's the truth !.Funny that a grinning Neil Warnock never mentioned a word about Tevez when Sheffield United beat West Ham WITH Tevez was in the team.Oh no Sir ! Tevez was the furthest from his mind when he told sky "The PL is the place to be ".Oh no the campaign for fairness in sport, cowardly using little children in a the march for 'justice' only began ONCE you got relegated. Then McGreedy realising that the cash cow which is the PL had dissappeared plotted his illegal cash heist.Funny that in his campaign for justice he didn't sue the mighty Manchester United for £28 million. After all Tevez was on EXACTLY the same deal at Manchester United as he was at West Ham.Like at West Ham he was owned by MSI.Tevez was never 'illegal',West Ham were found guilty of third party 'influence'.A rule brought in to protect clubs, who have a player on loan, from being moved on by the likes of MSI ,causing the likes of West Ham too suffer results wise and financially. But still your illegal cash heist has not helped you one bit.McCabe's using it to pay off his debt.On the field of play ,as always, your are playing second fiddle to Sheffield Wednesday.Such a pity that McGreedy didn't stick hs hands in his pocket when it mattered. You may still have been in the Premier League ! We are more than a football club,we're a way of life !COYI'S !!!

Such a difficult crime to prove. Can't believe the other guy was not guilty. Anyway, I agree with the hammer, it wasn't tevez who was in the wrong, but the club and agents involved.
Evans is difficult, cos you are innocent until proven guilty!
Pleased he's not playing tmoz tho. We've a
Uch better chance of wiining the league if we beat Wycombe now he's out if the squad.

Nothing particularly wrong in gloating over Sheff Utd's predicament - but as a girl has been raped, it's a bit different. I'd imagine that many Sheff Utd fans are disgusted that a guy they've been cheering all season has turned out to be a scumbag, but I actually don't give atoss about anything Sheff Utd fans think about....anything. To be honest, I hope they don't get promoted but it's unlikely.
But making 'jokes' about this Evans case is a bit sick really.

Hammersfan said...

Hi Fareham, how are you mate? Play offs can't be any good for your ticker! Sue Allardyce for unnecessary suffering!

2305, allegedly it was Astle who had the bracelet, Moore carried the can because there was no way the British government would allow the man who had lifted the World Cup to go to jail in South America.

0040, humour is sick.

2236, the Blunted Blades have been playing a guilty man though haven't they?

2126, they didn't have to sack him, just not play him. It's standard procedure, known as "gardening leave".

I used to lıke west ham, but cant stand them now cus of fans lıke you. Sheffıeld unıted went down because they were crap. Mccabe was upset they broke the rules. Many blades fans couldnt gıve a toss about the tevez thıng as we knew we were garbage. If evans had been put on 'gardenıng leave' then found ınnocent, whats to say he wouldnt have sued for breach of contract? Its just the culture we lıve ın today. Footballers arent above the law and have to start realısıng that, altho bet you could easıly pıck a team of ex convıcts and thugs from all the teams ın the league.

Hammersfan said...

0620, just back from a night shift? How could Evans sue his employers for paying him in full whilst doing nothing? Don't be daft!

John hartson kıcked hıs own team mate ın the head dıdnt stop west ham playıng hım. Marlon kıng spent tıme ın prıson for ? Lee hughes kılled someone, yet fans stıll cheer them now. At the tıme evans was playıng he wasnt guılty. He has been found guılty now so wıll be playıng for whatever prıson team untıl he gets out. What seems odd to me tho, ıf evans ıs guılty, why wasnt the other bloke as well?

FarehamHammer said...

Hi Fanno !Up and down but staying positive.Exellent piece on Birmingham City. The trouble is it doesn't matter who we play, with Green in goal the opposition always have a chance!.

Hammersfan said...

Glad to hear about the ups, good luck with the downs Fareham; but what do you expect as a fan of West Ham owned by Yo-Yo masters Sullivan & Gold?

1043, how can you compare a kick to the head on the training field with raping a teenager? John Terry was stripped of the England captaincy pending hs trial, and he allegedly used a racist insult; compare that with raping a teenager!

The other bloke wasn't guilty because the girl went to the hotel bedroom with him and arguably therefore consented to sex with him. Evens arrived mid coitus, watched and climbed on top when the girl was in no position to give any form of consent.

Refusing to play for your club or nailing some slapper who probably gets screwed by strange men every weekend anyway, I know which one is worse (the former).

I think it is very sad that you can attempt score footballing points when 2 young persons lives have been ruined over such a terrible incident. It seems a little distasteful and somewhat spiteful. Get over yourself and try to remember that this is not about you or your football team.

Hammersfan said...

1302 sums it all up wonderfully don't you think? Refusing to play a game of football is worse than raping a woman! What a country this is when we breed morons like that! Kick sexism out of football? With attitudes like that? Is it any wonder that we have scum like Marlon King playing the game?

1334 Which two young people's lives have been ruined exactly? You are presumably counting Ched Evans? Tell you what, let's forgive and forget shall we? Say, come on Ched, we don't want to ruin your life, carry on like before mate and tell the girl to pull herself together. One bloke, two blokes, what's the difference?

At the end of the day, the event has happened. Evans has been found guilty. A very silly young woman has exposed herself to danger in a reckless way by getting herself so drunk that she cannot remember what happened and then going to a hotel room with a complete stranger. Should Evans have raped her? Of course not. Should we fight shy of saying that her actions involved some degree of culpability? Of course not too. That's why the jury found the co accused not guilty. So I feel no sympathy for either of them. She was stupid and irresponsible and whilst the rape needs to be punished, that doesn't mean we have to turn her into some form of saint.

To true and well saıd hammerfan. A west ham fan ı agree wıth blımey. The shame of ıt ıs evans ıs only 23 and wıll be out ın tıme for söe club to sıgn hım up agaın. Just lıke someone saıd before look at lee hughes, he was older and fans are cheerıng hım agaın. Thats the shame of football, normal lıfe doesnt always seem to apply.

Well said hf Evans should be shot but to be fair the silly cow should have known better that's the trouble footballers live in a different world all arrogant pricks that think they can take what they want the worlds gone down the toilet

A kıck ın the head on the traınıng ground? Dıdnt he nearly decapıtate hım. Wasnt comparıng ıt to what evans dıd, just sayıng footballer get away wıth owt usualy, despıte beıng thugs or scumbags.

Hammersfan said...

No, it was some way short of decapitation. I think both shook hands subsequently; I doubt that happens in the case of a rape victim and the rapist in many cases.
