How very dare they? It seems that Doctor Evil has been unfairly overlooked in the nominations for Championship Manager of the Month. With West Ham blitzing their way through the division and leaving clubs like Hull City and Birmingham in their wake, Allardyce, amazingly, does not figure in the short list of four.
How can this be? Do the idiots who put this short list together not understand what a fantastic job Sam is doing at Upton Park? Do they not appreciate the turn over of players? Can they not see that it takes time for a team to gel? Do they not grasp the incredible job Allardyce has done to keep West Ham in touch at the top after the trauma of relegation last season?
Look at the nominations!
Chris Hughton? How does he deserve it? Birmingham are below West Ham in the table, unless they win their games in hand! So what that they are also fighting a campaign in Europe and that their relegation was even more traumatic than our own? Hughton is a rookie. His teams play attractive football. A joke of a nomination in Sam's book!
Nigel Adkins? Are they having a laugh? So what that Southampton are top of the table playing entertaining football with a team that were in the division below this last season and two divisions below West Ham? Has Adkins ever been interviewed for the England job? What does he know about the game in comparison with Allardyce? Nout. Bloody nout. That's what!
And Dougie Freedman? On what basis exactly? Because he has taken a team that missed relegation by a whisker into the top four, blooding some exciting young home grown talent in the process? That's doomed to failure as Sam will tell you. You don't succeed by bringing players through from the club's Academy. Look at West Ham! Drawing at home to the bottom team in the table? Send on Diop for Sears and leave Hall on the bench! That's Sam's way! You need to pack your team with gnarled old pros; that's the only way!
Mind you, you don't want to go as far as Nigel Pearson at Hull! Look at their squad! They are truly shit! And if they win their game in hand they will still be a massive ONE POINT behind us in the table! No wonder Allardyce is quietly seething when a loser like Pearson gets recognition over him!
I tell you what, there's a few contributors on here who would explain the folly of these nominations. They will tell you that Allardyce has done a brilliant job since his arrival. He has the highest paid squad in the division and to lead them to second place is an incredible achievement by any standards according to them. So what that the football is ugly? So what that the kids are being ignored? So what that the values of the club have been tossed onto a pyre? We are SECOND. SECOND. GET THAT? SECOND!
Allardyce is the best manager in this division. End of! As Allardyce will happily tell you!
